Spring is here—and so are black bears in South Carolina! As temperatures rise, black bears are becoming more active as they search for food after leaving their winter dens, according to the @SCDNR. Stay aware and keep a safe distance if you spot one. bit.ly/4tqSOOd

They ran millions of miles under New York. Now they’re part of something new. In 2002, hundreds of retired subway cars were placed off the coast of South Carolina across five reef sites—intentionally creating artificial reefs. Today, they’re home to fish, coral, and marine life. The program ended in 2010. The impact didn’t. Still delivering—just in a different way. 🎥: South Carolina Department of Natural Resources

Four years of hard work is paying off, and our volunteers and @SCDNR partners deserve the credit! They deployed more oyster cages in front of our Plum Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, bringing the reef to 800 ft! It's strengthening our coast and supporting the ecosystem. 🦪
