Abad drove young people escaping from the Nova party to safety under live fire, saving countless lives until he was shot at the entrance to the kibbutz. He left behind a wife and 7 children. My college friend, former colleague, and mentor @htaneja is at the White House among a very select group of SV folk meeting PM Modi and President Biden. I have known him to be reserved regarding personal stuff on social media for 15+ years so I will say this for him: it is so f'ing awesome! This immigrant boy from New Delhi fully earned his seat on that table. He is a brilliant mind, and hustled and worked hard for more than 2 decades to now rank as a most prominent VC in SV. I think when it's all said and done, the entire software industry will consist of a spreadsheet for the business folks, SQL for the data folks, and Javascript for the app folks.

The Bay Area gets energized by downturns. Always has. That's because the culture is rooted in innovation. And there is no better time to build. East coast finance on the other hand has a hard time seeing past the markets. Right now is a great time to be in tech!
