@memeslich DMs shouldn't ban anything. They should bring to the table a list of things they allow in their world. If the world doesn't have Warlocks or the Fireball spell, then that will be noted as them not existing in this world. Create the proper expectation by giving rather than taking.

@Real_J_Mitchell @memeslich No, not everything ever published belongs in every game or setting. Turning every game and setting into a kitchen sink of stuff robs them of much of the uniqueness that can be found. Go ahead and just try playing a Dark Sun campaign with all the normal rules...

It isn't her weird feminist theory, it's not some evil male obsession. It's simple. There's less beauty in the world than there was beforehand. "But it's my right to..." Sure, it's your right. Just like it's your right to be hateful, or cruel, or ignorant, or just a generally terrible person. It's your right to be rude. It's your right to be deceitful. It's your right to be all kinds of terrible things. It's even your right to be ugly. But that's not what we're talking about here, is it? You want to be ugly while still demanding others treat you as if you were beautiful. You want to be as hateful, and cruel, and off putting as you can possibly be and expect others to neither comment or object. If a man reeked of whatever foul smell he chose to slather himself in, whatever scent you can come up with you wouldn't think twice about rebuking him, because that would offend YOUR tender sensibilities. But if men do the same suddenly we're talking about patriarchal obsession with ownership of the female body. When no, that's just you being a terrible person and once again expecting to never be held accountable for it. If you make yourself ugly, people will think you're ugly.

@memeslich I like having strong and detailed rules structure, however there has to be the capacity to recognize when the rules as written don't make sense in certain situations and be adjusted by the DM
