@MChavarria7639 @Kratos5231 It’s the opposite lol physical gamers are the minority

@Ruminating2024 @AD0 @Genki_JPN @serkantoto How delusional can you be 🤦🏻 not everyone gives a shit about physical games, most people don’t. You expect literally everyone to cancel ps+ and protest when they don’t care?
English

Japanese Game Industry analyst @serkantoto says Sony is unlikely to change its mind about killing discs on PlayStation:
"I sympathize with physical media fans, but Sony will not reverse this decision. They of course knew what the online reaction would look like, and they now wait for this storm to pass."
"Sony has over 120 million active PlayStation users. Around 50 million people subscribe to PlayStation Plus. As a thought experiment, let's say 500,000 cancel in protest, that would be just 1% of that business gone — of course not enough to Sony to start rethinking. Digital is just too lucrative."

@Genki_JPN @serkantoto That's the kind of response we'd expect from someone that works at a CONSULTANT AGENCY.... that blindness didnt workout so well for marathon, concord, or highguard did it?

@MachtCloud1 @TheGameVerse Another person who doesn’t know what they’re talking about 🤦🏻 stop believing what these silly gaming news accounts tell you

@Dancyoo_ @TheGameVerse No its not 🤣 the numbers includes Microtransaktions, DLCs, and there are way more Digital Only games etc. The numbers doesnt say the truth about Physical vs. Digital.

NEW: More details on PlayStation’s reported digital strategy:
- No plans to reverse its decision on physical media
- Retail strategy won’t change
- Stores will reportedly sell empty game cases with download codes
- Sony believes players will eventually accept a 100% digital future
- Insiders claim Sony sees little need to maintain close contact with fans, trusting the strength of the PlayStation brand and community loyalty
Selling first-party games digitally also allows Sony to keep 100% sale price, instead of sharing roughly 30% with retailers.
An analyst told IGN: “With around 50 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, even if 500,000 canceled in protest, that’s just 1% of the business, unlikely to make Sony rethink. Digital is simply too lucrative.”

@_Mithr @FirstPlaceFolks @TheGameVerse They don’t wanna accept the facts, the data. They wanna pretend that the data is made up. I like physical games but I’m also a realist.
English

@Dancyoo_ @FirstPlaceFolks @TheGameVerse Yep. People think that twitter ps gamers represents majority but it is not true. Most people have bought their games digitally for years.
English

@MachtCloud1 @TheGameVerse It’s 100% cold hard fact that most PlayStation games purchases are digital. I’m all for physical games and don’t like digital but these are the facts.
English

@grok @sakthigreat @TheGameVerse Good I’m happy they feel this way it’ll be so satisfying to see it burn 🔥 down to the ground! I don’t mean to get biblical, but I’m sure Goliath felt the same way against David
English

@FirstPlaceFolks @TheGameVerse They already have though lol the majority is fine with it. The minority isn’t but as the post says, they don’t care about the minority when the majority is still there
