Before the last election, the coalition parties made a clear and repeated promise that they would replace or repeal references to the Principles of the Treaty. So. Why haven’t they? This was a specific commitment, reinforced again during coalition negotiations and written into the agreements that allowed them to form Government. When they failed (or chose to fail) to pass the Treaty Principles Bill we were assured that the issues would be resolved in their plans to remove Treaty Principles from legislation not actually related to the Treaty. These clauses have been inserted into legislation in ways that are vague, inconsistent, and open to wild interpretation. They have created legal uncertainty, shifted decision-making away from elected representatives, and made it harder for ordinary New Zealanders to understand how laws will be applied. We all thought the Government recognised this, and that’s why they said they would act. Since then, a review into the Treaty Principles clauses has been commissioned. That review has been completed and a report has been delivered to Minister Paul Goldsmith. And yet, we have seen and heard nothing. A Hobson’s Pledge supporter enquired with the minister and this is what she received: “I do not intend to release the report at this time” Ay?! Is he serious? Are we meant to just accept that the Government is not going to follow through on one of their key promises at the election and in coalition agreements? Not on my watch.  I’m sending my own letter to Minister Goldsmith. For a Government that campaigned on restoring democratic accountability and clarity in the law, the response in that letter is unacceptable. At this point, questions need to be asked. No, questions need to be ANSWERED. - Why is the report being withheld? - What advice did the Government receive? - If the problem was serious enough to justify a review in the first place, why has nothing changed? This is not a minor matter that they are backtracking on!  Treaty clauses are already influencing how laws are interpreted and how decisions are made across a wide range of areas. If the Government believes the status quo is justified, it should be prepared to show New Zealanders why. If reform is needed, it should be getting on with it. This goes directly to trust.  The parties currently in Government asked for our votes on the basis that they would deal with this. They cannot now expect voters to simply forget that promise was made. If they intend to walk it back, they should tell us. If they intend to keep it, they should release the report and set out a clear plan for what happens next. They can’t hide from this. We want to know either way because this is a big deal when they are all going to turn around in November and ask for our votes again. We have to make ourselves heard. Don’t let this slide. We have built a simple tool to make sure you can send a message directly to Minister Paul Goldsmith. Tell him to release the report and follow through on what was promised. Remind him that voters are paying attention. If this Government thinks it can make commitments like this and ignore them once in power, and we will all shrug it off, it is mistaken. I am 28 years old, and I have lived my entire life suffocating under the Islamic Republic. Why do you spend your time fighting Crown Prince @PahlaviReza instead of listening to a crushed, bleeding nation? Last night, I watched his speech. Do you know what I felt? Relief. The profound relief of hearing an honorable man echo the exact pain and demands of his people, with more precision than anyone else. And I felt pride. I felt absolute pride in the truth, structure, and beauty of his words. Do you know how heartbreaking it is that pride is a foreign, alien emotion for an Iranian today? He gave that back to us. We screamed his name with all our might. 40,000 of our fallen heroes signed his leadership with their own blood. Stop fighting our choice. Listen to us.

And yet, the West is silent. All Lives Matter. Except Christians, apparently. If it were any other religion, there would be international condemnation. Newspapers would carry the headlines for months. Celebrities and politicians would be demanding action. Millions of protesters would be taking to the streets with banners and chants. But, when it’s Christian lives being threatened and annihilated, no one bats an eye. This must end. The tide must turn. Because this IS genocide.

I totally reject the notion that Mahr's response to my paper represents a legitimate, equal alternative to my view that many aspects of reality are mind-independent. We are not merely "talking past each other" from different epistemological starting points. Mahr's view is actually incoherent and at odds with everything we know about material reality. And the fact that I even have to respond to such thorough nonsense is truly shocking. These ideas have no place in academia because they have no guardrails whatsoever. There is no limiting principle or empirical anchor that makes them self-correcting over a long enough timescale like the sciences. This means that, over time, these fields actually get more, not less, disconnected from reality. And then they start infecting legitimate fields like biology and try to tear down legitimate knowledge. These fields rooted in Critical Theory are totally fraudulent. They have no place in academia and do not deserve to be supported with taxpayer dollars.

Then when Chinese naval task forces started conducting live-fire drills near its waters and aggressively militarizing islands nearby, it finally woke up. Today New Zealand's army is small, while their navy barely has any fighting vessels left; their air force has NO fighter force whatsoever. This situation was really supercharged under the former PM Jacinda Ardern. Not only did New Zealand cuck itself by with pacifist posturing, it also indulged in her favorite ideological program, implanting DEI in every domain, and adopting the "Maori ways of knowing" in science curricula (lmao). Then Adern abandoned the country, took her family, and went to Australia (LMAO). Now, New Zealand has to build its armed forces practically from scratch. New Zealand is learning, late, that in a contested world, hard power still matters and predators don't respect flightless birds. This is the consequence of electing people drunk on idealism. Now, the NZ government is pledging billions to recruit personnel, buy helicopters, drones, anti-tank missiles, and boost spending toward 2% of GDP. This is what happens when Prime Ministers entertain foreign religions. Aussie’s Albanese was just given a massive scare and run out of a mosque by Angry Muslims.
