@alps2018 I hope that price included the Cello My wife got hers as a hand down from her mother. It was just used as a second runaround car. They were functional but a bit of an ugly duckling on the road. 🚗. Believe me Jo, we traded it in pretty sharpish for a smart electric blue mini. 🚙

@alps2018 Two of the extracts quote prices in guineas. Lovely. Shamed to admit that we had an Austin A40 in the family - and yes it was red just like the photo. 😱

@arthistorynews Based on this portrait by Dobson - then Alec Guinness did an amazing job or portraying King Charles I in the film Cromwell.

@HistoryArcs Shows London pretty much devoid of children. Presume most evacuated from the Capital by that time.

@chilternrailway @SBarrettBar What do you mean ‘Reach Out to us’. If you mean ‘contact us’ then say so, instead of this mealy-mouth, touchy-feely crap. This gentleman is clearly distressed & you expect him to fill in a webform. This is a disgraceful response & you warrant every repercussion coming your way.

Are these the most lavish loos in England? 🤩 Built in 1898, the Grade I listed Philharmonic Dining Rooms has outstanding features, from wood-panelled walls to beautiful stained glass windows. However, visitors often stop in to look at one room in particular. 🚽

@alps2018 Ive not seen the iPlayer stuff Jo, I’ll check it out. A potential treat for me over Xmas. I’ve seen several on YouTube & also have an old DVD but I recall watching his shows on tv ages ago. Like Liberace- a very skilled pianist, who was never overprecious or too serious about it

Once you have bought & paid for your home it is yours & you own it outright. No government should be taking a single penny of it when you die as it’s yours to gift to whoever you want. You’ve paid taxes in order to own it so you’ve already paid your dues.

@morningad Hopefully if Star Pub Co are successful in finding a new tenant then the ‘thousands’ who signed the petition will actually start visiting and patronising the pub thereby creating a viable business. Use it or lose it has to be the name of the game.
