@SBarrettBar A thought. If parents kill a new born baby they are, quite rightly, jailed but suddenly, babies at nine months gestation, can be legally killed with the permission of the state.

The people arguing for 100% women's right to abort Are as bad as those who would argue for 0% Binary thinking. Which simply does not work with complex issues The true solution is a compromise between the competing rights of the mother and the baby.

I dont think being overly emotional is particularly helpful when it comes to matters of the law but for the first time since becoming an MP I am genuinely sad about what parliament has done. I am sad because I know what the consequences will be. I am sad because I know nervous first time parents might give way to doubt and opt out of parenthood and how the reality of that means they'll be denied the greatest gift life will ever give them and instead inherit a life of monstrous guilt. I am sad because, now, healthy babies will be destroyed. I am really sorry that the UK has legalised full term abortion. For what it's worth, I voted NO. I am going to squeeze my children a little tighter and thank the universe a little more than normal this morning. You cannot become unpregnant. You just become the parent of a child you killed. That is the reality of life. We must face it. My babies.

The House of Lords have voted narrowly in favour of allowing abortion up-to-birth in England & Wales. The only solace is that one day they will meet Jesus.

Andrew is wrong And usually better than this and a decent man But the Conservative Party is dying. So there will inevitably be spasms Purdah begins on 26th and what happened wouldn't breach Purdah. We need simpler, clear, laws.

@SBarrettBar @darrengrimes @FlorenceWoodle1 Isn't there a clause about sensitivity or something? I do not know whether that would apply to this bill.. Yes ofcourse we have to have consistent application of the law, however, it feels as though this is not actually happening. I pray it starts to change soon 🙏

@SBarrettBar @darrengrimes @FlorenceWoodle1 The Council are in the "Purdah Period" they are legally prohibited from debating issues which may influence local elections. To do so would be breaking electoral rules wouldn't it? So why would Reform insist on pushing their motion, when they knew it couldn't be debated legally?

@SBarrettBar Been waiting for the CBA to lead on this potential for action by the criminal bar. When all other avenues have been explored we have to be prepared to walk away and go home

Young people. When you’re watching ‘Line of Duty’ and thinking police work is really exciting, full of car chases and kicking in doors. This is the stark reality of the job. To quote Officer John Cooper ‘it’s relentless, it gets to you and it seems like it changes nothing’

I’m a former CID detective. I spent 21 years inside the British criminal justice system. And I’m done staying quiet. A thread. 🧵

Interestingly if you Google 'Dieu et mon droit' it gives a slop translation of 'droit' as 'rule'🙄 Utter rubbish - AI and Wikipedia are prone to communist rubbish If you google 'droit' on its own, it will correctly tell you it means law The communists are inside the house ...
