@AdamMeakins If that was the case wouldn't powerlifters be bigger than bodybuilders? I imagine there are a myriad of factors, such as training intensity, optimal recovery, sleep and volume that all contribute. Weight is simply one variable.

I may get crucified for saying this on twitter but lifting LIGHT weights to get bigger and stronger muscles is (IMO) a really stupid and inefficient way to get bigger and stronger muscles Whenever you can lift heavier weights over lighter ones for bigger stronger muscles! 🫡

Did you know around 28-32% of people with knee replacements experience difficulties with kneeling after 18-24 months? Fortunately, there are proven ways to empower and rehabilitate most receivers of replacements to kneel again. Find out more here: digital-physio.com/can-you-kneel-…

Evidence is mounting that older individuals should devote at least some of their resistance training efforts to the use of fast concentric actions 💪

@bretcontreras Never knew that one can isolate the piriformis in the first place 😅 Great work debunking myths - any emg studies looking at muscle activity?

Lately some Instagram and TikTok influencers have been claiming that seated hip abductions are all piriformis and no gutes, which is absurd. The movement is probably 60% glute max, 12% and 8% posterior glute med & min, 8% piriformis, and 12% other deep hip external rotators.

@JornTrommelen Great summary. Sorry I don't have access to the full text. Any studies in the review show functional improvements with the improved ROM (e.g. speed, strength, etc.)?

@DrNadolsky Calories shouldn't be everything? Unless the goal is fat loss. Shouldn't we factor in the micronutrient profile of certain for longevity and chronic disease prevention? Not to mention gut and cardiovascular health as well?

The eccentric component of resistance exercise improves lower body range of motion; it should be considered a dynamic form of flexibility training pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35574461/

@BradSchoenfeld Found this statement interesting: "It can be hypothesized that negative anabolic effects of cold-water immersion are in some way related to a reduction in blood flow (50, 54)..." Thoughts about the utility of sauna after hypertrophy orientated workouts?
