@whtpkd i'm not sure, i think as long as you can get into EFI it should work. however if it's a 2011 it won't work because Thunderbolt iMacs use a different method for this stuff that isn't documented.

@DistrosProjects does this require the imac to have a working gpu or just a "somewhat working" gpu works

@NanosaurFan1999 @DistrosProjects Might just be a monitor conversion iMac though, I know that monitor conversion iMac 27" 5Ks are pretty commonly used to replace aging Dell UP2715K monitors which would have been paired with a T3600 in bundles fairly often. And they're a very special monitor with few counterparts

@vxunderground That's the same way I learned programming, the only difference was that I did low-level OS stuff instead of malware dev (though the first code I ever wrote was awful VBS/Batch script kiddie "viruses" when I was like 10 and experimenting with VMs)

"hey smelly how do i learn malware reverse engineering?" I DONT KNOW. I never took classes, I barely read any books on it. I learned C, malware dev, then I somehow magically learned asm and reverse engineering I learned backwards. You figure out a better way

@saraaa7447 Video editing on 8GB RAM would be pretty much impossible if you’re working with 8K footage and tons of effects as Marques does. It’d probably do it but would be swapping a lot and wouldn’t cache anything in RAM so it’d be very slow.

This computer can literally do everything. Even if you’re doing 3D modelling or full stack development this can handle it. You’re talking about it like it’s a 12 year old machine.

@yakuted They work on XP so the issue is with something in the bootloader

@yakuted There would be if the NVIDIA drivers worked, but they crash for reasons that aren’t yet known.

Windows Vista on an original Apple TV. Sort of. (there are major issues for reasons yet unknown)

I made Windows Vista run on UEFI.

@channelramblr Not exactly sadly due to the aforementioned major issues that could take a long time to fix.

@thehallowed @djenov120 not Class 3 UEFI though, contrary to what some claim. this is the first class-3 vista boot, via a custom video driver and the reactos bootloader

@djenov120 @DistrosProjects Vista was the first edition of Windows capable of running on UEFI-based systems after SP1, when Microsoft switched to the Windows Server 2008 kernel.

@reactos My test! It’s pretty likely that the sound driver and maybe GPU would work on an installed system with XP drivers but this is not one

#ReactOS LiveCD works on Shuttle FN415P! Ethernet and USB seem to work, while sound does not.
