Friday was my last in the mayor’s office. Serving the people of Huntsville was the privilege of a lifetime. An honor beyond words. I’ve taken a job at Meta as a Community Development Regional Manager. I’ll be doing local government/community relations for their data centers in Alabama and Georgia. I’ll be based day to day at the facility in North Huntsville. I can’t say enough good things about Mayor Battle and the team he has assembled at the City of Huntsville. Over the last decade plus, no city in America has put together a better string of municipal accomplishments. For the last three years, I’ve been lucky enough to witness and be some small part of that. I’ll never forget it. Mayor Battle personally is a discerning, pragmatic, and fundamentally decent man. Huntsville is lucky he’s in charge. When the opportunity at Meta came up, he was the first to say I’d be a fool not to pursue a chance like this. We are parting on the best of terms. I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next. I’m so happy I get to remain in Alabama and be a part of the incredible Rocket City community.
