@mindoverdata I take the Bloor and Yonge bike lanes daily for my commute to Rosedale because it is the most direct route. There are no side streets that would get me to work as fast as that. Also, because these bike lanes are protected they are the safest route to get there.

There are no "secondary streets" for Yonge St. Mt. Pleasant and Avenue Rd. are the only other North/South roads. Doug Ford simply wants bike lanes gone, despite the actual data, and study after study, showing the economic, health, environmental, and safety benefits of bike lanes.

If Dougie gets rid of our bike lanes, WE WILL TAKE THE LANE. WE WILL TAKE THE LANE.

Hi all, I rarely go on here anymore, but I've returned just to remind everyone in Ontario: there aren't too many bike lanes, there are too many cars.

I have always found it fascinating how motorists and politicians feel aggrieved about 3-foot-wide bike lanes causing congestion while apparently feeling fine about dedicating 50-70% of the roadway for people to store private property, for free, for days.

@fordnation I am issuing a challenge from one Doug to another Doug: Let’s go for a Dougs bike ride through Toronto so you can see how important the current (and future) bike lanes are to reducing congestion and keeping the city (and Dougs) moving.

We are bringing sanity back to bike lane decisions. By removing and replacing existing bike lanes on primary roads, we will get drivers moving again.

Too many drivers across Ontario are stuck in gridlock for hours every day and bike lanes are making things worse. Next week, we’re introducing legislation that would require cities to get provincial approval for any new bike lanes that require removing a lane of traffic.
