@rkrager8 @8675309jrk I don’t think Jan should be fired but criticism is definitely justified. Fran McCaffrey got fired because he couldn’t get past the round of 32. Jan hasn’t in 2 seasons even though they hosted this year. They also got destroyed by an historical margin in the B1G Tournament.

@RyStar7_ I don’t know many, if any, coaches who don’t play the players that give them the best chance to win. And coaches evaluate players in practice more than games. That’s also where development happens. People have lost sight of this.

I’m amazed at how many transfer looking for playing time and don’t make the obvious adjustment of finding a weaker roster, especially at your position.
You weren’t not playing because the coach doesn’t like you. You weren’t playing because you couldn’t help them win.

@HawkGuyEnjoyer About 1950 is when the NCAA forces its best schools to go to the NCAA tourney. Before that, the best usually went to the NIT, even though the NCAA tourney still crowned the champ. Nothing before 1950 should even count.

My interpretation was that Folgueiras was trying to punch the ball. If he tried to punch Condon he would have connected because he was lying on top of him. It was up to the refs to determine whether he made enough contact with Condon to warrant an ejection, and apparently they did not.

In the postgame presser Florida Coach Todd Golden said the officials told him that Alvaro threw a punch but since it didn’t connect, there wasn’t validation for an ejection. Folgeuiras would go on to hit the game winning shot and be Iowa’s second leading scorer in the game
