I live in Redcar.
We lost the SSI Steelworks in 2015. 3,000 jobs. Gone.
We lost the SABIC chemical cracker in 2025. Described as losing Teesside's "beating heart."
The clean energy industry is now rebuilding this town.
The Sofia Wind Farm cable comes ashore here. SeAH Wind โ the world's largest monopile plant โ is here. 750 direct jobs. 1,500 in the supply chain. Today, Lighthouse Green Fuels was announced on Teesside. 2,000 construction jobs.
Reform would scrap every bit of it.
This isn't ideology. This is my community.
