Transcorp Hotels made ₦7 billion in profit in just 3 months. January, February, March. That is one quarter. They did not discover oil. They did not launch a new product. The stock market paying you just for owning a piece of a company. This is why financial education matters. While most people walk past Transcorp Hotels as a customer, investors walk past it as part owners collecting profit. Same building. Two completely different relationships with money. Kudos to the SL & P at Kwara State University. With the support of the Students’ Union, payments to individual faculties and departments have been streamlined into a single fee of ₦7,000, regardless of how much was previously charged by each faculty or department.

UK students need loan to go to school. US students need to go to school. When students from the richest countries in the world need loan to go school, it is now students from Nigeria that don’t need loan to go to school, yet they want to compete in the same global economy as students educated in the UK and US?
