Maybe somewhere but not in our experience.
It does help not to be a just one of a herd of arrivals swamping the locals and trashing their traditions and values, tho.
Yes, it helps if you actually try to respect the values and traditions of the local folks.
We've been accepted in small towns in places as diverse as Kentucky, South Africa and here in Idaho.
Love them and they love you right back.

Nearing completion - this was built from scratch. Magnificent.
The reconstruction of Archduke Joseph’s Palace in Budapest, Hungary. Damaged in 1945, it was later demolished by the communists in the 1960s.

imagine being one of the most iconic American wool clothing companies, you proudly include “Pendleton Woolen Mills” since 1863 on the tag, and then have at the bottom hanging off like a skin tag “Made in Indonesia.” How could not feel ashamed for created such a product?

We only had a very short lockdown here during covid, early on b4 much was known & anxiety was at its peak.
My wife & watched every one of the Rockford Files episodes, remembering back when we were young. It was a staple on Friday nites.
Rockford Files was the "comfort food" of TV!

Jim Rockford might have been down on his luck - unreliable clients, living in a trailer, he hadn't even paid off that answerphone machine - but as a kid I loved that gold Pontiac Firebird. It even had a small press in the back seat for printing undercover fake business cards.

To claim we can’t know if this conflict satisfies the criteria of a just war is an insidious error. We can know if the Iran War is just or unjust, simply by applying Catholic teaching to the public facts.
