Until the iran war, no the economy was not that bad. Yes it is amazing people still hate it because its a republican trifecta. But the economic sentiment is totally detached from indicators. I assume most of it is just housing infecting everything though, which is actually bad.

Trump promised to actually cut prices and a lot of people believed him, that's his problem.
It's unclear to me he would've won the 2024 election if his promise was only "I'll keep price increases to 2.5-3% per year."

This is just not true. Trump didn't win the majority of the vote. He won 49.8% of the vote. More than Harris's 48.3% but not a majority.

@LinkofSunshine It sucks ass, it's the second worst economy of my lifetime as a Millennial... but yeah, it's not even CLOSE.
The only thing that's arguably worse is the vibe, it feels more structural than "this too shall pass". But we'll see, for all I know we're roaring again by 2028.

My brother graduated from Emory in 2009 and couldn't find a job so he joined the Navy. Imagine the whining if Gen Z had to make that choice.
