This Earth Day, we’re proud to continue advancing sustainable transportation solutions at Echo. We also leverage technology to track and report carrier emissions through our partnership with the EPA SmartWay Program. As highlighted in our latest ESG report, this program helped prevent more than 38,000 metric tons of CO₂ from entering the atmosphere in a single year. This is equivalent to avoiding emissions from ~4.3 million gallons of gasoline, enough fuel for a truck (7 MPG) to circle the Earth over 1,000 times. Client Advisory – Freight Disruptions in Western Mexico Major roadblocks were reported in western Mexico Sunday after the arrest of cartel members by Mexican authorities. These disruptions have impacted primary freight routes from Manzanillo to Guadalajara and into Tamaulipas. Disruptions could continue due to the increase in roadblocks, vehicle inspections, and temporary closures of key corridors. Roadways in and around Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, as well as border routes to Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, and Ciudad Juarez may be impacted.
