@Parkersafc @RobRaine180 Honestly think the club do want ro move away from the current one. It's far to complicated and just looks cheap when it's not embroidered on Ship badge has looked classy and far superior to the current one

@RobRaine180 @ElliottSAFC Agree, but it looks like thats what Hummel will do with the current home badge. Background colour to match the trim on the shirt. Even more reason to revert back to the ship badge for me

@RobRaine180 @ElliottSAFC Love a yellow kit. Guaranteed banger I reckon. Concerned about the home kit with the stupid back panel rules

@RokerReport Just like Clarke Jobe etc neither were of the quality they left when they arrived. For once we not ony have a plan & structure but the tools to achieve them. Have faith in those whonhave got us here to keep the upwards trajectory going. Keep backing them & bringing the support

@RokerReport Bigger picture imagine what he will be like if he stays fit has a full pre-season with us having had a year to settle similar with Talbi. Most our signings are bought as being raw with time to develop into the players we saw the potential too. Time & patients needed.

Precisely. There were people writing off Rigg before the last two games and now look at him
Nick@nicholaswilso11

@RokerReport He’s had a big injury early on, barely played 15 games for us, people need to realise it takes some players longer than others to settle

Today's Random Mag of the Day is... David Kelly: The Scorer Who Lit the Fuse When Kevin Keegan arrived at Newcastle United in February 1992, the club's fortunes seemed to be at their lowest ebb. Relegation to the third tier was a real and terrifying possibility. The team lacked confidence, and perhaps most crucially, it lacked a consistent goalscorer. Then, a few months into his reign, Keegan made a signing that would prove to be one of the most important in the club's history: David Kelly. Arriving from Leicester City in June 1992 for a fee of £250,000, David Kelly was not a marquee signing in the traditional sense. But what he brought to St. James' Park was far more valuable than a high price tag: goals. Keegan had identified that the team's attacking prowess needed a serious injection, and in Kelly, he found a striker with a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Kelly’s impact was immediate and profound. He formed a lethal partnership with Andy Cole, and the two of them became the spearhead of Keegan’s exhilarating attacking football. In his debut season, 1992-93, Kelly scored 25 league goals, a crucial contribution that helped Newcastle United storm to the Division One title and secure promotion to the inaugural Premier League. His goals weren't just spectacular; they were vital, often turning draws into wins and ensuring the team's momentum never faltered. He wasn't the most glamorous striker, but he was a tireless worker, a brilliant finisher, and a true team player. He had a great football brain, and his clever movement off the ball created space for his teammates. He was a perfect fit for Keegan's system, a relentless forward who embodied the passion and energy of the "Entertainers" era. Kelly's time at Newcastle was relatively short. After two memorable seasons where he scored a total of 35 goals in 85 appearances, he was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1995. His departure was a sad moment for many fans, but his legacy was already secured. He was a man who arrived at the club at its lowest point and helped to drag it back to the top. Speaking about his time at the club, Kelly once said: "It was an absolute whirlwind. When I arrived, the club had a great history, but the present wasn't so good. But from the moment I walked in, there was a feeling that things were changing. The fans were unbelievable. They just wanted a team that would fight for them, and we gave them that. To be a part of the team that won promotion and then played in the Premier League was a dream come true. To score goals at St. James' Park was a feeling you can't describe. I'll always be grateful for my time there." David Kelly may have only been at Newcastle for a couple of seasons, but his contribution was immense. He was the man who provided the goals that ignited the Keegan revolution and set the club on a path to glory. He’s a true Newcastle United hero, and today's Random Mag of the Day. #NUFC #NUFCFans #NUFCNews #Newcastle
