Presidents lllllllllove their Executive Orders. I guess they give them a sense of “political accomplishment.” Of doing something in a world of legislative quagmires. But laws in America don’t get made by the 1st branch. Nor should Washington D.C. have any jurisdiction over NCAA eligibility matters, to begin with.

Most people are quietly performing their entire lives, even the "authentic" version they show online is still curated for a reaction. Real freedom from that doesn't come from discipline, it comes from genuinely running out of interest in what the audience thinks. That takes longer than most people admit.

@xan_desanctis I’ve lived in KY, IN, MI and FL. (Florida coastlines being populated mostly by big city yankees.) You can so immediately tell where you are simply by how people smile and greet each other, whilst even out for a walk.

I remember when I moved to NYC, a friend’s dad told me “Don’t smile at strangers on the subway, they’ll think you’re crazy or looking for trouble.” Apparently the lesson stuck.
