There is a way out of this despair, and it begins tomorrow in Washington. Lebanon’s hope lies in ending the illusion that peace and progress are possible while weapons remain outside the state. The world must stand clearly with Lebanon: to end external domination and ensure that arms are held only by the state. Lebanon is not condemned to its fate. What we face is not destiny, but the result of years of coercion and intimidation. The era of fear is over—we will no longer accept the language of force or policies that weaken the state from within. This is a moment for courage and clear decisions: sovereignty, one law, and the right of every citizen to live in safety and dignity. There is another path, one of recovery, stability, and strong institutions. We will not yield to fear. Lebanon is stronger. The choice is ours, and the time is now.

In 2014, my son was battling cancer. At one point, we were desperately looking for O-negative blood, a rare type, and time was not on our side. It was the first time I turned to social media. Until then, it was just a page. Nothing more. But that day, it became something else. People responded. People shared. People prayed. And it meant more to me than I can ever express. Among all the moments I witnessed, and one day I may write about that chapter of my life, there is one I will never forget. A woman came from the South of Lebanon. From Bint Jbeil, from the heart of the South. Her son drove her for hours, 5 hours, just to reach us. I remember them walking into that small salon where we were sitting. I was with my brother. She looked at me and said: “I know you are looking for this blood type. I have it. I asked my son to bring me. We searched for you in Beirut’s hospitals … and now we found you. I am here to give my blood to your son”. She came to give life … to my son. And this is the first time, I talk about it, even to my wife. These are the people of the South. Today, the South is being destroyed, villages are being erased. And I cannot help but think of her and of so many others like her. This is my country. These are my people. From every region, every village, every belief. And in my own way, as a human being, and through my voice, I will always stand by every suffering, every pain, every cry for help. To the Lebanese South and to every family living through this agony today, I send my love. May God save your beautiful hearts ❤️🇱🇧 #lebanon #humanity #unity #لبنان

Hezbollah coup aborted? Reports suggest that Hezbollah may be attempting an urban military coup against the Lebanese government. Alleged targets include the Prime Minister’s office, the Presidential Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the central bank, and, most critically, the Ministry of Defense. Some accounts also mention rumors of kidnappings of government officials and politicians, and even the possibility of executions. Another report claims that Israel uncovered the alleged plot and carried out two hours of strikes on Hezbollah offices, significantly disrupting the operation. However, current sources indicate that the situation remains active and unresolved. According to these claims, any suspension of Israeli operations could allow Hezbollah to regain momentum. These reports need to be confirmed. @SecRubio @SecWar @CIADirector

Mesquin 🤔

@WalidPhares Since 1983 Israel and the US with all their powers have tried to disarm Hezb, do you expect that the current Lebanese government with its courageous but poorly armed army would be able to do it!

Bring Lebanese and Israeli Foreign ministers to Washington DC The “Lebanese state” is reportedly sending a low-level delegation to Washington to meet with an Israeli delegation to discuss a ceasefire and the cessation of operations against Hezbollah. Lebanon’s ruling elite—after decades of failing to disarm Hezbollah and years of effectively accommodating the Iran-backed militia—now appear to be shifting toward protecting it by pressing Israel to halt its campaign against the group. Why hasn’t the Lebanese government, led by a president and the army commander, dispatched its foreign minister to coordinate meetings in Washington? If the goal were serious diplomacy, sendfettermaning the country’s top diplomat would signal commitment. Instead, the absence of senior leadership raises questions about the intent and authority of the delegation. Foreign Minister Yousef “Joe” Raggi could have been sent to the United States to convey a clear message of peace and accountability. Instead, this delegation risks delaying meaningful progress while shielding Hezbollah from coordinated U.S. and Israeli pressure. As a result, the aspirations of the Lebanese people may go unrepresented in Washington. Secretary of State Marco Rubio should consider postponing trilateral talks until both Israel and Lebanon are represented at the foreign minister level. Anything less risks undermining the seriousness and effectiveness of the negotiations. @POTUS @SecRubio @SpeakerJohnson @LindseyGrahamSC @netanyahu @LBpresidency @YoussefRaggi

@hahussain @sarelwa2et 5- To disarm Hezb you need a strong army and government to be able to defend the border from agressors. The past experience how our army left the South for the aggressor is not promising at all. If we are not powerful enough the negociations would be btwn a wolf and a sheep

@hahussain @sarelwa2et 4- Lessons from the past prove that the strong is respected not the weak. When Hezb sent 6 missiles after 15 months of patience we all said what is he doing this is suicide. But when you look at the facts you realise that he didn't have other choices except retaliate the attacks+

On Lebanese talkshow @sarelwa2et with Marcel Ghanem: 1. If Hezbollah is winning and beating Israel like it claims, then why is it dying to stop the war and be part of the Iran ceasefire? Why not go on and win back all the land from Israel? If the war stops this minute, at least 300,000 Lebanese won't be able to return to the buffer zone in south Lebanon. 2. The Lebanese keep on saying "Israeli aggression" while in reality, in 2006, 2023, 2026, Hezbollah was always the aggressor, the one that started the war. Also, from an international law perspective, Israel is in the clear defending itself while Lebanon is in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 (disarm Hezbollah). 3. Hezbollah chief Qassem published a book called The Resistance State that a government coexists with an armed non-state actor against global imperialism. Israel wants this model dead. Either Lebanon becomes a normal sovereign state responsible for any violence that originates from its territory, or Israel will keep a buffer zone like in Gaza until Hezbollah surrenders its arms. 4. Hezbollah surrendering its arms to win back land is great. After all the goal is for Shia to live in their land in peace. The goal is not to keep the arms. The arms is a tool and if throwing it away achieve the goal, then be it. 5. Disarming Hezbollah doesn't have to be war, it requires Lebanese political consensus to ask Hezbollah to surrender its arms to the army. It succeeded in 1982 when the Lebanese asked Arafat to leave Lebanon to stop the war with Israel. It succeeded in 2005 when the Lebanese ejected Assad's army from their country.
