Several EU countries including Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, and Greece are planning "return hubs" deportation centers located in third countries outside the EU. These facilities would house rejected asylum seekers while they await removal. They want to have operational agreements in place by the end of 2026, following the European Parliament's approval of stricter migration rules.
