This has literally _zero_ performance wins. In fact removing bus mitigation is actively harmful because x86 bus locks make the system crawl to a halt. Catching these are done by the hardware and CachyOS removes the Linux exception handler that will handle the exception. Horrible

@rini404 On CachyOS, CS2 can grind your system to a halt by doing a boo-boo. Normally, on Bazzite and other distros it can't, and they're both the same speed.

@HSVSphere Seems like you have not that much experience in kernel work. The mitigation is intended for: 1. Multi-tenant / cloud environments 2. Real-time systems On single-user desktop systems you control all the software running. There's no adversarial threat model.
