Turbo game plans can pivot easily. They are typically in grixis which leads to underworld/brain freeze win lines. If they aren’t in grixis, then they are running completely different win conditions that aren’t affected in anyway. You are forgetting that commanders like etali, Rocco, Magda, lumra and sans blue turbo exists and will run away with the format. Thoracle is the only allowing non-turbo decks to keep up with win speed.

@FallenTtv @SaffronOlive No it wouldn’t, if you tap out for rhystic study you just gave the turbo player the go ahead you didn’t stop anything. By banning thoracle you are stopping a huge section of the turbo game plan especially the partner ones who have to rely on generic cards.

@FallenTtv @SaffronOlive Neither Jace nor Labman do the same thing as Thoracle. You have to have an additional "draw a card" effect to win, slowing a prominent 2 card combo. I don't follow your points and would like to learn.

Rhystic will tax them on their actions. Along with this, you are drawing into interaction, turbo players require multiple game actions to win the game in most cases by using rituals, rocks and the like so rhystic will be drawing into answers, I.e. all of the free counter magic in blue/red

@Syzzix @SaffronOlive Or you know like just pay the 1? Pretty simple solution. You can do this in cEDH and you can most definitely pay the 1 in casual.

@SaffronOlive For anyone saying “just put cards in your deck to play around Rhystic” no I really shouldn’t have to, that turns the game into Yu Gi Oh where half your deck is specific responses and kills deckbuilding and creativity.
