New Major Update on @MightMagicFates: BROKEN OATHS.
The patch includes a new Absolution Set (10 new cards), Duplicate Protection, Disenchantment, Player Profile & Battle Log, Daily Bonus, and Card Balancing!
ICYMI, here are 10 cards that were adjusted and rebalanced:
SPELLS
Chain Lightning (Adjusted)
- gold production increased from 1 → 2
- cost reduced from 8 → 7
- can no longer hit the same target multiple times
Chain Heal (Adjusted)
- can no longer hit the same target multiple times
Lightning Burst (Nerfed)
- cost increased from 5 → 6
Implosion (Nerfed)
- cost increased from 9 → 10
ARTIFACTS
Necromancer Helm (Nerfed)
- charges decreased from 6 → 4
Angelic Alliance (Buffed)
- charges increased from 2 → 3
Gauntlet of the Brawler (Buffed)
- cost reduced from 7 → 6
BUILDINGS
Training Ground (Nerfed)
- deploy effect removed; effect now only triggers when activated
Arcane Orb (Nerfed)
- health decreased from 8 → 5
- +2 spell effect is now removed once the building is destroyed
CREATURE
Lizardman (Buffed)
- gold production increased from 1 → 2
In my opinion, this balance update is really good especially the Chain Lightning bug fix. Finally, no more -12 damage on a single entity.
I also like that they increased the cost of Implosion. Since it only produces 1 gold, you can’t cast it anymore without extra gold or shelve cards.
The nerfs to Training Ground and Arcane Orb are just perfect. They’re now balanced without becoming unplayable. Kudos to the dev team!
For Necromancer Helm, I think instead of reducing the charges, it would be more balanced if it spawned skeletons when a non-necro creature dies on the opponent’s board.
For me, this update didn’t nerf Academy users at all. The Academy and Inferno factions are still the best on my list right now.
Overall, I'm loving this update including the new features in the game, and let’s see how it changes the meta with the 10 new cards.

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.

So I actually genuinely enjoy this game, but we need to talk about this update...
1. For anyone unaware, the game is far better optimised, has new effects and runs better than ever, which is a huge win for a game so dependant on mobile.
2. The new changes regarding duplication reduction are pretty decent, and maybe the best they could manage given the setup and mechanics of the game and card packs etc.
3. The inability to have any control over which cards you acquire is slowly killing the enjoyment of this game for me. Missing key legendaries is one thing, but I am still missing so many important Rare cards such as Bag of Gold, that playing is like pulling teeth. Hearthstone had crafting on day 1, clearly there is a good reason for that.
4. Now the fix is just to 'spend money'. The problem is that it really isn't. I'm all for monetisation in games but not only do Founder Keys still not have their 20% discount applied, the in-game pricing structure is a literal joke. They have priced themselves significantly higher than all other TCG competitors for some ridiculous reason. For reference it costs $165 AUD for 75 card packs. Whereas in Hearthstone its closer to $100 AUD for 80+ packs, a range of cosmetics, guaranteed legendaries and more.
When you release a new and unknown game, you compete on price with competitors, not whatever the fuck this is.
@MightMagicFates is one of the first solid Mobile games we have ever gotten in Web 3 but its incredibly sad to see that they clearly released too early since its missing many important features, and someone high up in the team is insanely greedy and out of touch.
I am mostly just disappointed because they will kill their own game, and I want to see them succeed, we all do.

HOT TAKE: Web3 gaming isn’t dead, it was killed.
- P2E/P2A campaigns framed as opportunities to earn but actually designed for gamers to extract value
- Gamers became too focused on earning, which led to sybils and multi-accounting
- Studios prioritized tokenomics and trailers over building games people actually want to play
- Communities died as they were fed in-game assets, while projects and agencies extracted free user acquisition
- Studios struggled to generate real revenue because everyone was trying to extract instead of spend
- Gamers were conditioned to jump from one game to another once incentives dried up
- Studios built for Web3 but failed to tap into web2 audiences to scale
- Play-to-risk catered to degens, not for gamers who just want to have fun
- KOLs built so-called communities but disappeared when the market turned red
Now we are stuck in a small bubble, waiting for the next cycle with the same people.
The real question is not who saves it, it is who builds something worth staying for

Protection is working properly as far as we know.
Regarding sacrificing, there is sometimes a display issue when people perform certain specific inputs, and we’re going to fix it asap. However, players do not lose extra copies, it’s only a visual issue. If you relaunch the game, the correct count will appear.
