The Battle for Kherson The Ukrainian Kherson offensive has already started. There was no specific starting day but instead a gradual ramp up of pressure on the Russians This is a thread about what I think we can expect from the Kherson offensive in 2022 (1) #UkraineRussiaWar

@MariaSc90701399 yes, in the long term regulation will follow and we may end up in some utopia as AI and robots take care of all our needs but before that happens there is going to be poverty and hunger for decades. Personally I am not sure even this possible future utopia is good for mankind

@Fireblade577 It seems the only way to avoid that is to heavily tax companies using mainly AI and use that money to create more benefits towards “humans”… maybe… 🤔

The impact of the increasing reliance on AI in modern day will likely mirror the impact of the increasing amount of slaves in the Roman empire which is one of the key factors which led to its downfall . Before we get to the impact of AI in modern day we should look at the 1/14

AI may therefore destroy capitalism leading to the downfall of the modern society (and taking with it the business moguls who were instrumental to this) much like slavery eventually led to the downfall of Rome 14/14 AI Generated picture of Poverty:

effects on their balance sheets as they are setting themselves up for longer term failure which may have a relatively short lag time from the initial savings they get for introducing this technology. Capitalism only works if people have purchasing power and 13/14

@Peterhun @ChrisO_wiki Yes if you have access to the electronics and mechanical interface components. Apparently Ukraine used siemens industrial automation hardware to perform the same task

@Fireblade577 @ChrisO_wiki Replacing a complex analogue computer with digital is a very time consuming task. I can see the logic that building new is better, quicker and cheaper option

1/ Russian army commanders are reportedly refusing to allow stored ZSU-23-4 Shilkas mobile anti-aircraft guns to be refurbished and put back into service, despite Russia's desperate need for more defences against Ukraine's increasingly large-scale drone strikes. ⬇️

@matterasmachine @nukerussia2026 @ChrisO_wiki @BackAndAlive if the effort and cost is worth it yes. They would however only be effective against the bigger recognisance drones and would have to be close to the frontline to be effective in this role so they would be easy targets for FPV drones given their radar betrays their location

@matterasmachine @nukerussia2026 @ChrisO_wiki @BackAndAlive yes but again at what cost. In this case you are not just replacing one digital system with another. instead you are replacing a 1960ies analogue system with cams and gears that interact mechanically with the firing system. This makes it significantly more difficult

@nukerussia2026 @ChrisO_wiki @BackAndAlive All vehicles can be restored. The question is to which degree they are restored, at what cost and what conditions these vehicles were stored in. The Shilka is definitely in the most complex category of vehicles to restore and the firing computer in particular is difficult
