@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod Ridsdale appoints managers who prefer that system, so he chooses the system. There is no plan B as we don't have the players for that. The whole set up is designed to produce 60 points a season so that it keeps Ridsdale in a job. Promotion would speed up a club sale and bye bye

🚨Despite all the complaining we do and I know this won’t be popular, I don’t dislike Peter Ridsdale like most seem to. I think he does okay with what he’s given. 🟡 That’s just my opinion, and I know the majority want him gone, but what has always irritated me over the years is that the second we win a game, the noise stops. If you’re that passionate about getting him out, a win against a team “on the beach” shouldn’t change that. Don’t sit and wait for another bad run to demand change if that’s what you believe in. We certainly won’t do that with our lackluster manager (congrats on hitting 23 league wins out of 83 btw) 😄 Have a great weekend North End fans. We all disagree on things but we’re still all Preston fans. #pnefc

@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod Hecky also prefers that system: hence he was offered the job. We currently can't play any other system - due to Ridsdale's failings. Change doesn't happen over night but it starts with Ridsdale out

@FiveStepBeyond @nepdailypod I’m not hugely keen on it, no. But Hecky said that very recently they have to play that system because the majority of the players the club owns were bought for those positions before he joined. He can’t afford to replace them all. Square peg, round hole.

@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod Do you agree with the 3 centre backs/wing backs system? That's Ridsdale system and now the club's identity. In place since Jan 21 and every manager since has adhered to it and if Ridsdale is still in charge the next one will. If you don't like that system you're not on the fence

@FiveStepBeyond @nepdailypod I agree with you on your point about extensions. I’m on the fence with Ridsdale really. I don’t love the guy but I think until we have something tangible that’s going to end in Preston going up the prem, we’re kind of hamstrung.

@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod Even Andrew Woods understands you need to buy players cheap and sell them for a profit, not hand out contract extensions to half a dozen players who've peaked. It'd take 2-3 years to see real improvements but Ridsdale should have been pensioned off a decade ago

@FiveStepBeyond @nepdailypod But the new chair will have the same budget, which is where our problems lie. We need more money to compete at this level. A new chair won’t be able to conjure that up. I think it’s a stretch to believe not selling up is a plot by Ridsdale to keep himself in power. He’s 74!

@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod Hecky helps to keep the fan base divided because a large percentage think sacking him will make a difference. And people like Ridsdale will implement many various strategies to keep themselves in power. Easiest solution to change is paying off Ridsdale to leave

It seems a bit of a convoluted strategy to appoint a manger to divert attention away from scrutiny on the ownership (and it's clearly not working!) I really want things to change but I can't see an easy solution.

@Katie_Cronin @nepdailypod The budget isn't paltry and he gets the majority of his decisions wrong. He signs players to benefit him to keep his job, no one else. Managers are appointed to divide the fans to keep people oblivious to the real issue. The club has become a laughing stock on his watch

@nepdailypod I agree with you. I genuinely think he does ok with the paltry budget. He makes mistakes and has a shady past, and I don’t agree with a lot of his decisions (club signings, state of the pitch) but I do think he wants the best for the club.

@pnebrewster23 He's a solid championship defender. Not spectacular but more often than not does a job. Issue is he can only play in Ridsdale's system so might well be here for another 7 or 8 years if Ridsdale remains in place

@cal_scfc Was a bit of luck involved but long over due for @pnefc. Ball hit a bobble just before the keeper got a hand to it so that helped it go in but Devine done brilliant to out pace two defenders and get a shot away. Was only one option on and made it count

@pnefc33 More than likely due to match fitness. Looked good tonight and tried to link up well with Milly. Improved fitness should come with game time. Not as strong as Armstrong but potentially a decent player. Had he signed at the start of January we could have had a few more points

I thought the North End fans were great tonight. Even when a goal down or level - they were fully behind the players throughout. It wasn’t easy going on tonight so every credit to the brave souls who did. Good to see a united fanbase behind players and manager. 👏🏻#pnefc
