There are people who will vote for their party no matter what. Those voters aren't how elections are won.
Almost half the country identifies as independent. Then there are the people who identify as Democrat or Republican, but are willing to vote across party lines and split ballots.
Those are the people you want to see Republicans vote no to a free ID for all citizens while claiming to want voter ID laws. That will make them take a closer look at the SAVE Act and find out what it really is.
