I respect Peter a lot, and his mock has caused a lot of smoke around Sadiq to the Ravens at 14, which was reaching a crescendo with several others starting to predict he would be the pick for Baltimore on night 1. As people know, I don't do very well with brevity so very long post incoming, my apologies... I don't usually do this so close to releasing my Draft Guide but Sadiq to the Ravens is a fascinating discussion about what the Ravens might be looking for in Declan Doyle's new offense. So I wanted to share what I wrote in my Guide in the Ravens fit section for Sadiq. I will preface this with how much I like the player, he has things to work on in his catching, his attention to detail in his breaks at the top of his route, and his in-line blocking, but this shouldnโ€™t stop teams creatively building a role in their offense for him. The grade I gave him for his potential was one of the highest in this class, although I do think there is a longer journey than others to get there. As for his fit with the Ravens, this is what I said: There are some things working against Sadiq being a fit for the Ravens. If this was Todd Monkenโ€™s offense I could see Sadiq being a fantastic fit for the Isaiah Likely role and I suspect he would earn more targets and volume than Likely did, while probably being as inconsistent as Likely early on in his career because of some of the technical flaws in Sadiqโ€™s game, but developing into a weapon for the offense. The athleticism is alluring and the Ravens do love their explosive Tight Ends who can stretch the field. The problem is the likely importance of 12 personnel to Declan Doyleโ€™s offense. In Ben Johnson and Sean Payton, Doyleโ€™s key mentors both run a lot of two TE sets but with the key being that this is out of 12 personnel, with two in-line Tight Ends. The Ravens are already carrying a Tight End who doesnโ€™t run nearly enough in-line for the offense we can expect the Ravens to run, in Andrews. Picking up another would be potential scheme fit malpractice by the Ravens and potentially set Declan Doyle up for failure. With Sadiq or Andrews on the field, alongside Durham Smythe in 12 personnel, the Ravens would not be able to establish the run out of this formation in the way Doyle will want to. It is a foundational part of the offense he will run and the Ravens need to add a more physical in-line blocker with some receiving threat to make this work. That just plainly isnโ€™t Sadiq right now. Maybe he can become that but he will need to add both mass and technique for his in-line blocking to improve to the level it needs to for this role. Sadiq can be a special player in the NFL but it is likely for another team who can create a unique role for him that minimizes his in-line responsibility more than the Ravens under Doyle could. The only exception to this would be if you see Sadiq as occupying the X position in the Ravens offense more frequently than not. This would be a complete position change, as even the most X-type Tight Ends (Darren Waller, Kyle Pitts) donโ€™t get even close to being split out at the same rate as the X receivers in the league. Sadiq is an athletic freak but for me, his release game and his technique as a separator do not match well with a full-time role change. Heโ€™d also have to drop 15lbs to even get into the top of the range for weight for X receivers. And I like the guy as a prospect. I just donโ€™t think heโ€™s right for the Ravens unless Doyle is planning to change his scheme significantly or build an offense around Sadiq.

I do two mock drafts every year. One this week and one the week of the Draft. After weeks of conversations, here's what I've got. Have at it. espn.com/nfl/draft2026/โ€ฆ @espn @ESPNNFL

Itโ€™s still the most dangerous place to live and itโ€™s not a good hosting city or organization. They have the lowest team valuation and are 2nd lowest in revenue generated. Nashville is better business wise and for player safety. Itโ€™s a common take by players for a reason.
