@Zachjb5 1) Players who aren't on the active NBA Draft early-entry list don't get invited to the Combine. 2) He could have told the NBA at any point: "Hey, I'm not interested in attending," like Elliot Cadeau did, for example, and his name would have been withdrawn from the official list

@DraftExpress Yes, we did the early entry over a month ago, after the season ended. We also already withdrew Monday morning. I’m letting you know as someone that can speak on his behalf that he will not be there and is withdrawn and will be at USC.

@Zachjb5 To be on this list, you have to accept the NBA's invitation and fill out paperwork. Obviously that happened for him to appear here. So clearly something is going on here, unless he elects to withdraw from the list in the coming days.

USC's Alijah Arenas is an interesting name here, given that several media outlets reported his intention to withdraw. Possible that some NBA teams voted for him anyway, and he ends up declining/being replaced.

The full picture of how NIL reshaped the NBA Draft. Early-entry numbers climbed from 2016-2021, peaking at 363 when COVID forced seniors to declare to keep draft eligibility. Alston hit in June 2021, kickstarting the NIL era. Five years later: 71.

Jonathan Givony@DraftExpress

The NIL era is flipping the NBA Draft on its head. Only 71 players entered the 2026 NBA Draft, per the NBA. Down from 106 last year and a peak of 363 in 2021. That's the lowest early-entrant total since 2003. College basketball stars are staying in school, overwhelmingly.
