@namedXbird @vonderleyen @DigitalEU There is also nothing stopping you from lending out your phone, unlocking an adult website for someone else, or someone sitting next to you while you watch. It's impossible to build a perfect solution. This is just a better alternative to uploading a JPG photo of driving license

@namedXbird @vonderleyen @DigitalEU Your age is not saved, only "age bracket" (<15, 16+, 18+). And to prevent copying the certificate lasts for e.g. 30 days, is behind your phone's PIN, and is not easy to extract. But of course possible...

@namedXbird @vonderleyen @DigitalEU Every Member State will have its own app. How you verify exactly depends on where you live. But for example you would get the option to either scan Passport chip and face, alternatively log in with DigiD. Zero information is saved, only the Age proof which says "above 18".

@gamingnoobdev @skylermzx Each country will have its own app, verified with AusweisApp or passport, ZERO data is stored on servers, and only an Age Certificate is stored on your phone. When presented to a website, they ONLY know age bracket(<16, 16+, 18+), and none information of who you are.

@Vaiiinx_ @vonderleyen The data is stored on your own phone ONLY. There is no central database of all users. The app is activated with national eIDP, like AusweisApp.

@initseven @vonderleyen This is not for blocking access to running source code locally. You can choose to not use it on any device (android/Windows/etc.) It is up to websites to decide if they want to require it or not, and for you to decide if you want to use that website or not.

@namedXbird @vonderleyen @DigitalEU When you use the Age Verification feature, there are no identities... The website gets NOTHING about who you are, only that you are "above 18" but not even your age.

@vonderleyen @DigitalEU How can i create fake identities to prevent getting spied upon? Also, is it time to poison all data sources? I didn't exist, but i lived in Spain while i worked in Norway and my social media accounts originate from France, Poland and Greece. I want my data to be useless to them!

@initseven @vonderleyen This has nothing to do with PC operating system. But for example in the past if you need to do something on the internet that requires age verification you in worst case had to upload a PHOTO of your driving license. Now people can prove they are above 18, anonymously.

@aalxndrv @vonderleyen All the answers are public. But every Member State has their own app. All data is stored on your phone ONLY. When you prove your age to a website, they only get a token which proves you are above 15/16/18, nothing else about who you are.

@Nakimushist They were never really “doing holograms.” A lot of those older shows used a Pepper’s Ghost-style setup: project the image, reflect it off an angled transparent surface, and from the crowd it looks 3D. A lot of newer shows just use large transparent LED/screen setups instead

They couldn't pass digital ID. Instead of accepting this they're just taking the long way around
