A generation of films in which American masculinity returns to Southeast Asia and this time achieves the result that actual American military power could not achieve. This is not entertainment. This is psychological compensation operating at industrial scale. An entire culture industry producing catharsis for a national wound that cannot be addressed honestly because honest address would require admitting what the wound actually is. The wound is not that America lost. The wound is why America lost. The wound is what America was doing there. The wound is three million Vietnamese dead and no accountability and no reckoning. Rambo cannot fix that wound. Rambo is the wound pretending to be the cure.

Capcom should stop being scared of giving its female characters full spotlight: we are not in the 80s/90s anymore, games with female protag do sell a lot and are widely popular, the public wants to see them. Gaming audience has changed and become more inclusive across the years
