@muhsin234 I have since understood that they have conceived the notion that we desperately want to remain in the Nigerian marriage (1 Nigeria) because we are parasites. That's why they forcefully turned themselves into educated illiterate. Arguing with emotions rather than facts & figures.

I have this dilemma: should I keep responding to the fake news and lies peddled about us in Nigeria, or stay quiet and let them continue? Some people are too shameless and dishonest. What do they want to achieve? If Nigeria collapses, we and/or our loved ones are in it together.

I honestly hate seeing a coin I’m still accumulating start pumping. 😂 When I research a project and decide it’s worth holding long-term, I don’t buy everything at once. I accumulate gradually (small-small) using profits from trading and other earnings, until I reach my target bag. So anytime the coin starts pumping while I’m still in accumulation mode. E pain me. 😭 Make I finish packing my bags before it pump.

If you are starting your career now and can afford it, open a voluntary contribution pension fund. Make monthly contribution into it for as long as you can. You can also do this a non 9-5ner. You WILL NOT regret this.

I had over an hour conversation with a leader who started his career 2 years before I was born. 40+ years in consulting, ex-Partner at PwC, and a major consultant in O&G. His words? “Be resilient, focused, and curious. Keep learning. Take risks and be confident in your ability. Stay humble”. Learn from this.

Exciting news @hotdao_ is introducing a 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) feature soon, a major and much-needed upgrade. This will be the first of its kind on a custodial wallet, setting a new standard for security. Honestly, I’m even more excited about this update than the $HOT TGE.

I had a client in Lagos, very rich and liquid guy, was once a bank MD. The guy was renting, back then he was staying in a house in VI in early 2000's, his rent was N8m. i knew because i wrote the checks to the landlord. One day i asked him, "why don't you have your own home" He said, "Kalu, if i decide to build a house, to my taste, it will cost me N300m. I can use that N300m and make at least N50m a year. This home, whatever i ask the landlord, he does, because he does not want to lose me as a tenant, its painted annually, etc. i don't want to tie down my capital in a home" Thoughts?

ABOUT THE BOOK This book critically examines the cultural, religious, and linguistic contestations within Kannywood, the Hausa-language film industry in northern Nigeria. It explores how filmmakers navigate religious expectations, cultural norms, and language ideologies while appealing to a diverse audience. Using audience reception theory and detailed analyses of selected films, the study reveals internal tensions—particularly regarding the dominance of the Kano dialect, the marginalisation of others, such as Sokoto’s, and the commodification of “broken” Hausa. It also highlights the challenges posed by global influences and conservative religious forces, positioning Kannywood as a contested space of identity, representation, and sociolinguistic negotiation. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Teaches Hausa Studies at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Cologne. He is an expert in Hausa-language media and cultural production, with a particular focus on how religion, censorship, and identity influence film, language, and popular discourse in Northern Nigeria. PUBLICATION DATE 05. December 2025 #Alhamdulillah
