Education is among the first topics I raise when visiting Member States. I did so in Greece, where I met with @sofiazacharaki to discuss the future European VET strategy. Education and skills are at the heart of Europe’s resilience. 🇪🇺 🇬🇷 I look forward to continuing our cooperation with Greece.

🇪🇺🇬🇷 A good discussion with Minister of Economy and Finance @Pierrakakis on some of the most important priorities for Europe’s future, from skills to social cohesion and economic resilience. We also discussed the future MFF and how the social segment will play an important role in the future European Budget.

🇪🇺🇬🇷 I had an excellent exchange today with @PrimeministerGR We discussed the social dimension of the Multiannual Financial Framework and the importance of ensuring strong investment in education, skills and social policies across Europe.

🇪🇺🇬🇷 Thank you, dear @nkerameus for the warm welcome in Athens. We discussed Greece’s recent labour market reforms supporting quality jobs, like the labour cards, and stronger collective bargaining with the new tripartite social agreement. We also discussed about the revision of our European social security coordination rules and the importance of activation and control measures to ensure trust between countries and faster reintegration of unemployed people in the labour market. I count on Greece’s support.

I welcomed at the 115th Combat Wing in Souda Bay the President of France, Emmanuel Macron @EmmanuelMacron, who, on his way back from Cyprus, wished to visit the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, off the coast of Crete. The presence of President Macron today in Cyprus and Crete, as well as the presence of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the Eastern Mediterranean region at this critical time sends a clear message: it underlines the importance of the 🇬🇷 - 🇫🇷 strategic defence partnership, as well as the strong interest of the largest military power of the EU in the region. #Greece #France
