Good morning from Didcot ☀️ A fresh start to the day, although it didn’t take long to warm up 🌡️ another cracking sunny one 😎 Got in about half an hour before my booking time and went straight onto a bay. Seemed like I had the place to myself, which made for a quick and easy unload. While pulling the curtains back, I caught a strong smell of diesel. Had a closer look and found fuel leaking around the seal of the sender unit 🤦🏻‍♂️ Definitely something that needs sorting ASAP, the last thing you want is diesel on the road causing a hazard, and with fuel prices ⛽️ every drop counts! Lanes 1,2 and 3 of (4) are closed on the #M6 north J14 (#Stafford) - J15 (#StokeOnTrent) as a HGV has spilt its load of offal across the carriageway. #TrafficOfficers are on scene with specialist contractors en-route to begin the clean-up work at the scene.

Well… that’s Monday’s plan well and truly out the window 🤦🏻‍♂️ Back down on the farm, I dropped my trailer, found the next one and thought I’d be straight back out. But it’s never a good sign when you walk round and spot a mudguard not secured properly. That’s the day reshuffled before it’s even properly started. So instead of heading off up the road, I’m parked up waiting for a call-out to get it sorted ⏰ Not ideal, but this is exactly why we do vehicle checks. Small things ignored can turn into big problems out on the road 🛣️ Frustrating? Definitely. But better to deal with it here than on the hard shoulder somewhere. That’s transport life!
