Just when you thought you had freedom of association and speech you are reminded that you don't. I will share a true story with you about why truth is important even when it's uncomfortable truth. A young man working in the trades started his own business in Florida decades ago. He had a family with 3 small kids, one with a significant health issue. He had earned a reputation of being a problem solver and was well respected. In those days, in Florida, most jobs were done with a handshake to include million dollar jobs bc you'd done jobs with the same ppl for 5 or 6 generations. You went into trades that your dad and granddad were in. As those days faded away, contracts became more and more important. You put lawyers on retainers. This young business/tradesman bid on a multi million dollar senior care facility nearby and 'won' the contract. There are lots of details but suffice it to say, it was his first and only contract with a wealthy jewish businessman. The contract had 4 draws w/required hard deadlines of completed work. Despite not being paid for the last 3, he finished the job bc his lawyer and the business man told him if he didn't he'd be sued for breach of contract even though he wasn't being paid. He lost $2M dollars on the contract. He filed a lawsuit and was told he'd never see a penny of the money by the contractor because they had the money and clout to ensure it was never heard in court. He was right. This contractor was facing financial ruin and couldn't afford to fight the suit after delay after delay for 6 months. It took years to recover financially. Several years later he was working on contracts in foreign countries with US contractors and was returning back. He was sitting in business class and struck up a conversation with a very nice guy sitting next to him. He was a businessman as well from New York. They're swapping stories about business deals, the guy made it clear that he was jewish and even shared some interesting stories of how their business culture is very different from American southern traditions while sharing joking about both cultures. When the southern guy shared his one and only jewish swindle story and the arrogance of the guy knowing he'd get away with it, the businessman just laughed and said the guy did him a favor. He was taken aback and asked how stealing $2M was a favor. He said it taught him to be a better business man and write better contracts to protect himself. Those are two different cultures. Anyone suggesting they are not is a liar. Anyone suggesting that you don't have freedom of association in America is lying to you. If this is your 'lived experience' and you are a normal human being you are going to do everything in your control to limit exposure to ppl that are culturally different from you and have no problem inflicting financial harm on you. That is what is called human nature. What becomes a real fucking problem in America is when the Leo Terrell's of the world, employed by the DOJ demands an American be ruined for the rest of their lives for SAYING IT OUT LOUD. I'd much rather someone that is racist tell me they are so I can avoid them. That is, by the way, what the first amendment right is all about. Not freedom of speech that you agree with but freedom to say the uncomfortable things out loud. No one in government, being paid with my tax dollars has the authority to threaten an American for saying something uncomfortable. I didn't spend 30 years in the military and sacrifice my body for their medical experiments for the DOJ to threaten someone for saying something many Americans agree with but are too scare to verbalize bc of exactly what is playing out right now. The jewish businessman was honest. The contractor was honest. They talked for several hours and neither were offended or hated each other at the end of the conversation and the contractor had a better understanding of what happened. He made his future decisions accordingly. What is happening in America right now is downright frightening and is Germany 1930's in reverse. We've went from Nazi's saying 'kill all the jewish ppl' to putting them on a pedestal as untouchables or risk public, verbal assassination (including by government officials) and being eliminated from the public square via controlled media attacks to reinforce what is and what is not acceptable behavior among the peasants. Both are unacceptable and both of these are incompatible with the constitution. Ppl figure things out without the psyops and government tyranny. The contractor went on to have several civic leader roles, ended up with several jewish friends throughout the community. The world doesn't end just because someone is honest and says something you don't like out loud.
