Exponential increase in revenue with excessive borrowing: Yet more hardship for Nigerians!
In celebrating three years of his administration, President Bola Tinubu included, among his achievements, an increase in revenue from N16.8 trillion in 2022 to N35 trillion in 2025. An increase of over 100%.
Shockingly, while Nigerians expected a reduction in borrowing with the exponential increase in revenue, the opposite is the case. In just three years, President Bola Tinubu’s government seems to be obsessed with excessive and imprudent borrowing, with our total debt currently about N200 trillion—a deeply disturbing increase of over N100 trillion.
In addition to the exponential increases in both revenue and debt, it is also important to note that Nigeria has earned far more than the budget revenue targets due to global and regional geoeconomic and political tensions.
Alarmingly, even with the astronomical increase in both revenue and debt, almost all key socio-economic and governance indicators are worse than in 2023. Multi-dimensional poverty has increased from 87 million people in 2023 to over 140 million people in 2025. Rapidly increasing unemployment and a decline in GDP per capita from $1,597 in 2023 to $1,223 in 2025, and the list goes on.
Just more and more hardship for Nigerians! The question Nigerians and even the international community are asking is, “Where did all the money go?”
Nigerians deserve a detailed and transparent explanation of what happened to our economy and financial resources since 2023, and a stop to the imprudent, unaccountable, and opaque management of our common patrimony.
A new and productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

Sad: Our Children Are Now Pawns in a Deadly Ransom Economy
It’s heartbreaking to report yet another bandit attack on a school, barely three weeks after over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers were abducted and are still languishing in the forest.
The security situation in Kogi State has taken another tragic turn with a brutal bandit attack on Government Secondary School, Iluke, in Kabba-Bunu LGA. Armed bandits disguised in military uniforms invaded the school during an ongoing WAEC examination, killed the Vice Principal, Mr. Gani Anifowose, and attempted a mass abduction of students.
Reports from the scene indicate that local security personnel and vigilantes actively resisted the attackers and frustrated their abduction attempt.
Making educational institutions soft targets is a direct assault on the nation’s future. It creates a psychological barrier to school enrolment and worsens Nigeria’s out-of-school children crisis, disproportionately forcing young girls out of formal education due to fear. There is nothing more heartbreaking for a nation than being unable to protect its children.
My heartfelt condolences go to the family of the Vice Principal, who lost his life while gallantly defending the children entrusted to his care. May God grant his soul eternal repose.-PO

Today is World Refugee Day.
Yet, millions of Nigerians have become refugees in their own country. Across the North and other parts of Nigeria, communities have been displaced by terrorism, banditry and violent attacks, with IDP camps now a painful symbol of our national failure to protect our people.
Many of these camps are grossly underfunded and inadequate for the thousands forced to live there. Families struggle daily for food, healthcare, education and basic dignity. For many, survival has become their only reality.
Children are abducted from schools. Families are forced to flee their homes. Farmers abandon their lands. Citizens live in fear of kidnapping and violence.
Worse still, with insecurity continuing to spread and intensify, there is little hope for many displaced Nigerians to return to their communities and rebuild their lives safely. This is not OK
On this World Refugee Day, we must remember that behind every statistic is a human life disrupted, a family uprooted, and a future put on hold. Nigerians deserve safety, dignity and the right to live peacefully in their own country.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Ignorance of the highest order.
Most of the foreigners if tables were turned, born and brought as Nigerians wouldn't be able to afford making it or even buying up lands in their droves.
There's a reason why foreigners can come into a country and afford to invest or do mega things apart especially those from working countries that parents invested, they invested even their government invested in them that they could afford what we perceive as luxury in our indigenous countries.
The United States is mostly led by immigrants and was built by immigrants, same with SA.
Asians built their country majorly yet they always move in droves to invest in foreign countries you think because there's something special lol
Asians practice socialism and communism have laws that do not exonerate human liberty over laws, so they and their wealth look for a porous, lawless country they can get away with their criminality or abuse of power to come invest and enjoy less bureaucracy, more freedom something their country wouldn't give em.
There's a reason Asia ranks as the crime capital of the world, they are as corrupt as they come. And you think anyone got rich from being moral or having moral or social ethics
Majority of the Chinese you see in the country were deported, or on the run from the law in their country . I have had their kids as mates in school.
For example China has a law of not giving birth to more than 1 or 2 kids and defaulters are usually sanctioned or even deported.
So when next you see foreigners with their unending resources and wealth in their droves coming into a country, citizens or indigenes better be asking the right questions instead of trying to be like them.
Your country didn't invest in your future or laid a foundation for your success unlike your foreign counterpart, your country isn't as industrialised as china that exports almost everything to the rest of the world for you to go toe to toe with them and their incessant wealth from production and manufacturing in their investment scheme in your country
Until Nigeria starts working, more and more will come and go , Japa will continue to be a thing and you and your small minded ignorant self that isn't among the political class selling your lands and country to foreigners for their benefits will think you can be like this foreigners , outbid them or even be like them.
Your government is against you to begin with , those lands those foreigners are buying belongs to citizens, taken forcefully from them and given to foreigners.
You think your country likes you more than this foreigners with their euros , dollars ..
Like I once said , we lack Class conciousness

Tonight, thousands of African foreign nationals In South Africa are sleeping on the cold ground. And the world keeps scrolling past.
Look at these pictures for a moment. Don’t rush.
See the mother holding her baby close while the little one sleeps in her arms? See the small boy clutching his juice, too young to understand why his bed tonight is the bare dirt? See the bags - everything a family owns, wrapped up tight in plastic, ready to go… except there’s nowhere to go yet, the buses they were promised are taking long to arrive.
There are no proper toilets. No proper food. Nothing to keep out the cold wind that comes in off the coast Durban at night. The sun comes up, and they wait. The sun goes down, and they wait again. Day after day after day. With babies. With grandmothers. Out in the open.
And here’s something many people don’t realise: some of these people are in SA legally. They have papers. They followed the rules, went to work, raised their children. They simply decided that, with everything happening, it was time to go home in peace.
Now picture it for one second. Imagine that was your mother sitting on that ground. Your little brother. Your own child. Imagine it was you.
My people, we cannot wait for governments to remember these are human beings. So I’m turning to the family - to you.
To every businessman and businesswoman across Africa. To every church, every organisation, every person with a little more than they need tonight: these are the moments our blessings were given to us for. A bus to carry a mother and her children home. A warm meal for a family that hasn’t eaten properly in days. Clean water. A blanket against the cold. Whatever you can do, do it - and do it now, while they wait.
You may never know their names. But somewhere, a child will sleep warm tonight because you chose mercy.
If you can give, give. If you can move buses, move them. If you can feed even ten people, feed them. And if all you have is your voice - share this, until it reaches the one person who can help.
