**Berean Standard Bible** **Par ▾ The River of Life** 1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the main street of the city. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Luke 13:24* Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. ** Matthew 7:13-14** Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. **Luke 13:24** In the beginning, there was the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This was God's original resting place. The Spirit of the Lord walked with Adam. God gave them free will and one commandment: if they ate from the tree of life, they would have received all the good fruit that the kingdom of heaven has to offer, which includes wisdom, truth, and life. The tree of life held the spirit of Christ, and if they had only obeyed that one commandment, they would have remained in God's eternal resting place, complete and whole. When Eve was lured away by her deceitful heart, she accepted the lie and ate the fruit of disobedience, and their eyes were opened to the Truth of the Reality of Sin; they realized they were naked. When Christ ascended into the heavens and fulfilled the work of our heavenly Father, He completed the completion of the work in the world when He said, "It is finished," and gave up the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is God's perfect gift for salvation, restoration, and completion for the return of God's people and redemption back into the kingdom of heaven, which Christ brought down from heaven by making a new covenant in the pouring out of His blood when He said, "Behold, I have made all things new." Christ is the word of God, and He restored God’s word in the world and in us if we are to surrender our heart, mind, and body over to the will of God by believing in our hearts and announcing with our mouth that Christ died and rose again three days and ascended to the right hand of the Father. God has given all authority onto Christ to be our intercessor for the spiritual working of the inner man so our work can be complete in us so a jury may be made full and complete, which is the promise of God from the beginning. The work of the Holy Spirit is proclaimed by the word of God when Christ said, "I am the gate; I am the way, the truth, and the life; I am the light of the world; and I am the good shepherd." The new Jerusalem has been prepared for us, and we must fulfill the work to receive the eternal inheritance of God's presence and resting place. The authority Christ has been given has given us the fire of the Holy Spirit, which when we abide in, Christ abides in us, and He is the vine dresser and God is the master gardener for us to be perfected and hollowed out. God must cast every branch that does not bear good fruit into the fire so that we may be pruned and bear more fruit. **Revelation 22:2** through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
