Do you guys even call your banks and negotiate or ask for a higher interest rate on your savings accounts? I know I have been preaching here about not leaving your money in a current or savings account, and I stand by that. But I also know many of you still have those accounts, so let me give you something useful. Especially now, with the repo rate at 6.75 percent and prime at 10.25 percent, your cash has become more valuable to the bank. When rates rise, the bank earns more by lending out your deposits, but they will keep paying you the same low interest unless you push them. They are not going to call you and offer more. You have to ask.
