In patients, the expression of cathepsin B is increased in GBM areas proximal to the lateral ventricle.

Back to in vivo, silencing cathepsin B expression not only improves the survival of animal models but also eliminates the negative impact of proximity to the lateral ventricles.

📊 First, in immunocompetent models, we observed that proximity to the lateral ventricle negatively impacts survival, mirroring human data. Additionally, SVZ cells show reduced proliferation and become arrested as B cells.
