Have read the entire Cong manifesto. Did not find any reference to Hindu-Muslim divisive politics. Instead manifesto talks of protecting ‘personal freedoms’ and rights of ALL communities, including LGBTQs. ‘Encourage reform of personal law through consultation’ says manifesto. So how does the manifesto have a stamp of Muslim League or is the word ‘Muslim’ only a permanent dog whistle? Actually the real debate should be on caste quota going beyond 50% by law and a wealth redistribution survey, not on religion. TBH, Not sure how many of those who debated the issue vociferously have even read the manifesto. Happy to be corrected by anyone who can show the parallel between this manifesto and Muslim League: else best to focus on ‘real’ issues for a better India: how will quality of education, health care be improved, and job creation be promoted. 🙏 #CongManifesto

My daughter took an appointment for Tatkal Passport on 9/11/23 for 12.30 pm slot. She submitted her documents and was free by 1.30 pm. The passport was dispatched by 5 pm in the evening and was delivered the very next day, i.e. on 10/11/23. A police verification call was received on 10/11/23, and the documents were submitted to the police station on 11/11/23. Net-net, within two days, the entire process of passport was completed. Twenty years ago, it was a big challenge to get the passport made. The system has improved significantly. It is highly appreciated for a smooth, efficient, and quick process. Your experiences?

After long flights and hours of transit before reaching Sri Lanka, I got the shock of my life when I watched PCB’s short clip on the history of Pakistan cricket minus the great Imran Khan… political differences apart but Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and developed Pakistan into a strong unit in his time and gave us a pathway… PCB should delete the video and apologise.

It was a source of embarrassment. This new convention centre comes at precisely the right time: when the world of commerce is beating a path to India’s doors. Noon musing: It’s not even 72 hours since Karnataka verdict was delivered but we expect CM to be announced in a nano second. Politics is not instant coffee. The BJP took over a week to pick Yogi Adityanath as its CM choice in UP 2017 amidst much debate and see how it turned out! Cong doesn’t win too often so surely they deserve some time too! 😊 ‘high command culture’ in all parties! Agree?
