When the Market Shifts, Your Plan Can Too. This morning I took a 10m x2 HOB on GER40 after reacting from a 4H x2 HOB above. The idea was simple: enter near the bottom of the 10m and place the stop to cover the FVG - because as MT says, “price will almost always reach up to close the FVG.” My planned entry was 24,483 with a stop at 24,493 (10pts). Shown to the right in the image. However, due to fill, my entry ended up being 24,485.5. Pre London open, GER40 had a 2.5pts spread, so suddenly I had two choices: a) Keep my original stop (now only 7.5pts away, keeping in mind the spread at this time) b) Respect the original 10pt buffer and adapt with my new entry A quick scan of LTFs showed a clean 2m OB sitting roughly where the 10pt stop loss would land. In a few seconds, previous experience with this asset made the call for me: Option B. The result? Textbook reaction off the 2m OB → full TP → four figures before breakfast. Did I get lucky with the fill? Yes. Did the experience earned from hours spent trading this asset help me adapt? Yes. (Thanks to @Albert_618) The general rule is “stick to your plan” and that is valid. However sometimes, the right move is knowing when the market demands an adjustment. Hope this provides some value. 📈

I caught this move because it's one of the few assets I trade, had it happened on a less relevant coin I would've missed it, also because I was looking for a hedge anyway, so was more focused on shorts, so looking harder. As for timeframes, I know I was looking for a LTF trigger, so only had to scan like 8 timeframes, which takes no time at all if you quick 🏃🏽‍♂️💨 🤙🏽 Sharing my thought process on the latest BTC short opportunities. I took 3 BTC trades here. 3/3 winners.

I don't know who needs to hear this... You don't have to limit yourself to trading HOBs. You aren't restricted, explore! Play what you see. Take this trade as an example: Broader context was bullish, strong HTF close above prior SH. There was no KL in the form of a HOB. But still, I was looking for continuation trades. If there's no significant liquidity for price to pull back to, you can assume it will continue grinding up, as there is no "fuel" for it to come back for, or it can pull back to the equilibrium of the swing. Coming into the 0.5, there was a MTF SFP. Waited patiently for another sweep closer to the 0.5, which SFP the SFP. Good enough trigger for me. High RR play. Lower risk. Lovely chef. Feel the market, and play it. 17RR this one. First TP @ 10 RR.

Never gets old seeing this shit playing out decades ago. 1990 btw.
