Just been thinking I’ve been in every department on that map, the two on Corsica included. I’ve also lived in 7 of them. My favourite department included France 🇫🇷 is the Aude (11), least favourites are ALL of them in IDF.

@DeborahMattocks @WithAC86 Then the cream just slides off, the jam acts as a lubricant. You need a massive dollop of clotted cream stuck to the scone, and a small smear of strawberry jam on top (so it counts as one of your five-a-day) for it to be perfect

@TedWelford 🙈 Was actually looking for a pic taken in an underground car park in Austria but this came up first and showed the colour well. Stayed there for the Formula E in 2022, highly recommend it

Yes, a dark purple Octavia vRS Estate is every bit as wonderful as you’d expect. Hadn’t realised you could get this as a factory colour, either!

I haven’t looked at those leaked images properly to understand their sources (my initial thought they were some sort of screengrabs going by the unflattering backgrounds and warping), but you cannot accurate make judgements about proportions without clear, flat photos. Even then the best way to judge a car remains with MkI eyeball.

To all the amateur car designers having fun passing judgement with the leaked i3 images, let’s wait until we have some decent press shots and I’ll do it properly.

Come on Renault. Pick a consistent design language defining each of your brands and stick with it. With a bit of cost reduction this would much better as a Dacia, which is ironic when the forthcoming Dacia Stryker looks more like a Nissan.

@AutoPap My Mum switched to an EV 18 months ago, with the right electricity tariff the running costs are near zero - 150 miles for about £3. Even my Vespa costs £12 to cover that distance

Got one in my Morris Minor, it’s for putting the headlights on full beam. I’d had the car ten years before I knew it was there…

@SimonCarGuy @Timoldland Bit of a different climate here, but the difference winter tyres make in a bit of snow is staggering. Where summers wouldn’t get out of the parking spot winters will get you around comfortably, even my FWD shopping car

@Timoldland Yep. Total lack of knowledge here. They’re not just for snow 🙄 But if it does snow, anything on them works fine.

Lots of questions asking why winters in UK:- 1. Spread tire wear 2. Will get % cost of 2nd set back come resale 3. Winters work significantly better than summer tyres below +8°C - plenty of info available online 4. They (or chains) are legal requirement in Alps during winter 1/2

@JBAEdmonds @thealexbear @AutoPap Cardiff have done it by weight with a specific exclusion for EVs. Not ideal but probably the only simple way with existing vehicle data.

@thealexbear @AutoPap Indeed. I’ve swapped a Skoda Octavia Kombi for a Volvo XC40, the Skoda definitely wasn’t an SUV, the Volvo definitely is, yet it’s smaller and lighter

@thealexbear @AutoPap It’s so hard to define without unintended consequences. Weight would hit EVs, length isn’t recorded on V5 so can’t really be used, not sure how to make it work

@Timoldland Tax is different as it’s done on engine size not CO2 (unsure if this makes it better or worse). Insurance is also less straightforward as they don’t have the same CAP and MVRIS codes

ADVICE NEEDED - Jap imports Looking at Polos for my niece to buy. Have to be DSG, under £8k and Euro 6. The majority for sale are Japanese imports. My question is - what are the downsides to buying/running one? 🤔

Finding such an original Proton Satria GTi that has been used and loved but still retains all it's parts, charm and oomph is very rare. Shout out to the twitter legend (who I don't know if he wants to be named or not so I won't) who put me in touch with the owner of 20 years 😊👍
