Rami, I acknowledge the sufferings on both sides, but I don't understand your seemingly one-sided perspective here. I wish you would acknowledge the complexity of the situation, as nothing is simply black or white in this conflict. Without recognizing it, you're missing why the situation is currently inextricable, and that's why you come up with oversimplified slogans like "FreePalestine" as if it was possible to do so while ensuring the safety of everybody involved. There's also some key distinctions that needs to be highlighted: 1. Deliberate Terror vs Casualties We all recognize the tragedies in Gaza. But we can't possibly equate the planned, intentional, gruesome terrorist attacks that we just witnessed, with unfortunate casualties from defensive actions, however disproportionate. There is no moral equivalence; a distinction must be made. Israel gives advance warnings before missile strikes in an attempt to minimize casualties. Avoiding them is made complex though as Hamas's strategy is to use civilians as shields, particularly women. 2. Charters Israel's founding charter doesn't advocate for war against Muslims. Hamas's charter targets Jews explicitly: 'The day the enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In the face of the Jews' usurpation, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised.' 'The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.' Pure hatred. Is it possible to coexist with such a neighbor without restraining it? 3. Historical Context Should we remind you that a small piece of historically relevant land, from the remains of the Ottoman Empire, was given to Jews after WWII to ensure their right of self-determination as we all failed to host them safely anywhere else... And what happened then, just after the Holocaust? Immediate invasion by neighboring Arab states following Israel's declaration of independence in 1948. Does it help you understand the existential threat that Jews feel, especially after the holocaust that killed 6M of them? Israel defended itself. This conflict led many Palestinians to be expelled or to flee, BUT at the same time unrelated Jews across the world had to flee many Arab countries (my father's family had to escape Morocco, despite having 0 link to Israel. Pure antisemitic retaliation. Starting life from scratch again in South of France). Today there is barely 16M Jews vs 1900M Muslims, for perspective. Israel is only 9M people. 4. Democratic vs. Authoritarian State Despite its flaws & far-right orientation, Israel remains a liberal multicultural democracy, with 18% of population being Muslim. This isn't true of Palestine. If Palestine would be freed as is right now, it would be an authoritarian nation based on radical Islam where terrorism would fester, with no multiculturalism, limited women's rights, limited LGBTQ rights, limited political dissent, and capital punishment. I hope we can both agree that the ultimate goal is peace & safety for ALL citizens involved. However, the path to that goal, based on history & current realities, is simply not as straightforward as we would all like.

This is why despite taking the vaccine myself i was very worried by the whole situation and what was being done to those who didn't want to. The whole thing was riding on the same principles that led to a specific moment in history.
