Evenly matched race. This horse is 12-1 ML. She wins by a pole at 3-5. I firmly believe this one would've been 20-1 in the 1980's. It would have been 10-1 twenty years ago. It would have been 6-1 to 8-1 as recently as five years ago. It is 3-5 now. That, my friends, is the end of horse racing. If the inside money and CAW's ravage the pools to this degree, and are correct at these rates, it's a silly gambling proposition now.

@JS57509050 @Amonahan Every book has their own dedicated team running models and gathering relevant information to place lines If 9 books say -300 and 1 says -225 We have 9 teams of dedicated nerds saying -300, so take value at -225 We don't need our own models. They do the work for us.

If a team *should* be priced at -300 (e.g. fair odds), then -225 is a good bet… It’s literally that simple. Saying you can’t make money betting favorites makes 0 logical sense. Literally zero.

Breaking - The track vet at Aqueduct scratched Miss Apples today. Tough to hear when the trainer says she 100% disagrees with the decision and we’ve been waiting a year for this day. The horse is doing great and she thought she was gonna win and has showed no issues in training and our own vets think she’s perfect. Reason given was lame left hind. Can’t race again till May at the earliest. Vets doing their jobs I guess. I wouldn’t want to race a horse with any issues but when nobody agrees with that 1 vet it’s tough. Maybe I’ll pass on buying more horses at @OBSSales today. I’m sad.
