NEW: Hundreds of thousands fewer children with SEND will be given legally binding EHCPs under changes announced by education secretary. Bridget Phillipson said the plans were designed to tackle "broken" system by preventing parents having to battle highly indebted councils to secure help for children. But restrictions on EHCPs threaten to cause backlash from parent groups and Labour MPs.

WE WON. @reformparty_uk took the Government to court over cancelling elections and they blinked. Total U turn because they knew they would lose. Labour, the Conservatives and the Lib Dem councils all backed cancelling the elections. A huge win for democracy and Reform.

Labour MP John McDonnell says he has written to Labour Party officials 'four times' asking for an investigation into Cabinet office minister Josh Simons, who while at a think tank hired lobbyists who ended up investigating the personal and religious background of a Sunday Times journalist. In response to the allegations, Mr Simons said he was 'surprised and shocked' to read the report, and that it was 'extended beyond the contract by including unnecessary information'.
