Yesterday at York Minster I was told by the guide that the monkeys in the pilgrimge window are there because there were wild monkeys in York in medieval times, having come from shops from Africa. Really?! I have found no evidence of this. @Emma_J_Wells have you heard of this?

@Naomi_D_Harvey @acweyand This a thousand times! If you have fatigue then even if your ferritin is 'normal' (which usually = a severe deficiency but whatever) then working to increase it is really obvious. But not to any Dr I've met.

@acweyand Hasn’t been studied and so doctors aren’t even aware of this. It boggle my mind how a doctor can tell a symptomatic patient with low ferritin that it’s ‘normal’ when addressing it could help improve their QoL and long term health outcomes.

Sadly, the wonderful and very talented dragon maker, Val Chivers, passed away yesterday. Anyone who has read The Last Dragon Chronicles will know she was the inspiration for the character of Elizabeth Pennykettle. Val will be greatly missed. Dragon tears are being shed today.

Two months ago, I was told I might have cancer. An aggressive cancer with a low survival rate. Two weeks ago I had surgery to remove several tumours (the largest weighing a kilo 😳). Today I got the results from my biopsy. It was clear. The utter relief.

@Sally_writes I can imagine. What a weight off your shoulders (but also - woah to there being several tumours!). I am doing so much better thanks! The iron has finally kicked in! (Hope that feeling is here to stay.) Will be clinking a cup of tea to you tonight my lovely, so relieved for you xx

Guess who is starting to feel (comparatively) AMAZING after having an iron transfusion? ME! It's taken 2.5 months to start to feel different but last month I couldn't do a 20 min walk & now ⬇️ 😮. Shout out to the lovely Dr Klein from the Cambridge Iron Clinic #MECFS #iron
