@JimUSFSig @Mike1625 It was corrected today if Kelly had left in 2027 it would half off. But Hogdson has to pay the full 2 Million which gives USF a boatload of free money to play with for a bigtime coach next season most of salary will be covered.

MBB ramblings: We want a contract for our next coach that has a huge buyout after year 1 & maybe year 2. Force the hire to stay for 3 years…. But coaches will fight that. Rob has to find the balance for a contract that protects USF but doesn’t scare away talent. Condt.

@SOFLBULLS AGREED. But that is completely beyond the power of anyone at USF. Gotta have someone extend an opening. 2030-2031 can't get here fast enough.

@JimUSFSig And if this keeps happening I will be keeping my money. I also I can understand when a much larger program comes in a coaches someone. I just don't not see Providence as a step up in any way, but as I mentioned im not a basketball guy. And can not sustain like this.

LOL. To take the next step... prove that Arky State wasn't a fluke. USF -- in the American -- should be like VCU in the A-10. A launching pad for good coaches. Come to USF, win 20+ games, make the post season, and get a better gig in a year or two. Best case until realignment.

@JimUSFSig So why would he even come here in the first place? Sounds like we are at such a disadvantage we should just stop wasting money on the program as a whole.

@SOFLBULLS The Big East also gets more teams into the NCAAT than the American. Power schools will play Big East teams but not American teams, making it easier to get a higher NET rankings. Providence doesn't have to win their tournament to make March Madness. Can't beat that.

@JimUSFSig Seems like something we should be able to go up against and win out but I guess that's just my opinion.

@SOFLBULLS Well, they don't have football. That helps. And the Big East pays Providence about the same amount of TV revenue as the American pays USF. ($8M per year) And they are a private school.

@JimUSFSig I just don't see how in any world a small private school of maybe 5k students could in any way shape or form could have a bigger nil budget or money for that matter. Supposedly we have all this money and all these active alumni yet we can't. We can not continue on this path.

@SOFLBULLS USF doesn't promote Fowler Ave through advertising. Fowler and USF work much more closely together than some other schools, like that one north of Ocala.

@JimUSFSig I have you seen one advert for a usf collective either from the university or third party? I live in actual south Florida and see billboards daily promoting uf's collective. How are we even collecting nil funds?

@JimUSFSig If I understand correctly, I think Hodgson’s was $3m for 1 and done. Not unreasonable to bump that up to $3.5m without scaring off a top talent.
