It all could have worked. I think the initial inability to boot to desktop brought out the ever-present Windows haters, but most of all my Mom was confused all the time. I still hate the fact that I can't put the word start on the button, I deal with elderly folks ALL the time and NO ONE in that sector knows what the start button is, it's insane. I was REALLY looking forward to Windows tablets, if the apps had arrived so would have the tablets maybe. Seemed like Google exercised some muscle to prevent their apps from ever playing nice at the time. I wish there was a SETTING to allow me to swipe in from left and switch apps instead of that horrible widget bar. Is there an app for that? I just tried swiping in from the right on my Surface Pro 11 and it brought up "click to do", hmm I better go check settings now, I haven't swiped in from the right since Win 8. Windows is a beast; it does everything I ask of it and rarely does the whole house get brought down in the process. For every hundred haters there is one of me that loves it and is an actual enthusiast. Or maybe... it's the other way around. I miss winrumours.com and all those live Windows presentations and fun stuff while we still thought Windows Phone was going to succeed. And then they slammed the door on us enthusiasts. I always thought MSFT should have had commercials emphasizing the @outlook.com ACCOUNT as that is the gateway to the ecosystem. People still don't know you can do Office for free at the website! I'm glad you said "I'm a PC" because it seems you're a Mac sometimes, but I think mostly you're a tech geek like the rest of us.

I just filed it in feedback. I do remote control to customers, and I always try to show them how cool sticky notes is. But the first thing they and me; are hit with is the updates. So since I use it daily it's not an issue, but it's an annoyance because I am always opening it on someone else's machine to show them. I guess that give it low priority for you guys and hi priority for me. 😡😡😡. I'll stick to moaning about Quick Assist I guess, which is mostly great except for the inability to sign in with Passkey. I filed that with a video in feedback as well. I have to type in my email address every day to use it.

All from an @aol domain. Of course we mark it as junk and of course they keep coming. I mean what is the deal?

@MicrosoftLoop What happened to the promise of Loop anyway? Was told a couple years ago we would be able to answer surveys and update stuff straight from email without getting linked out to a website, can the enterprise guys do that? I'm just a lowly consumer still waiting for anything useful.

Copilot reminders now sync to your phone Well, I don't have this YET, but looking forward to it. I actually really like this move from Microsoft. Cross‑device reminders through Copilot are the kind of practical, everyday features that make the ecosystem feel connected instead of siloed. More of this is what would make Copilot genuinely useful for normal people, not just power users. And yes… I’m still convinced this whole thing should’ve just stayed called Cortana, but whatever; naming drama aside, this is the right direction. Give me more seamless PC‑to‑phone support, and I’ll happily use it.

Sure why not have a Cortana toggle and one for Scribbles and Clippy too. I use CoPilot quite a lot cuz I'm a fanboy and to see how it's going. My main "test" for it is to quiz it on how to do stuff in the "New" Outlook. It fails the test over and over and over again, running me around in stupid circles and almost never giving the right answer and often referring to the UI from the OLD Outlook. However just now it did give a better answer than ALL the other guys for the question: "In the NEW Outlook how do I re-order the list of email accounts in the lower left corner" So, it was dumber than SIRI in this aspect last month, I'll see how it goes in the future, it used to be my go-to AI, now Grok is.

To be clear: I’m not asking for a rebrand of Copilot. Just give us a toggle. Let people pick Cortana as their AI persona the same way we pick themes, icons, and cursor colors. Bring back Cortana (hear me out) I’m just going to say it: Microsoft should let Cortana come home already. Copilot can keep the spreadsheets and enterprise stuff, but some of us actually want an assistant with personality. Cortana was one of the few times Windows (and Microsoft) felt fun instead of… quarterly.

Btw, until I watched Ridley Scotts last 2 Alien movies (not Romulus, the ones he directed) from the couch with ability to pause, roll back and ask AI LOTS of questions about the storyline, I didn't have a proper appreciation for those movies, now I think both are 5 stars. I would love one more from Cameron.
