IRAN SIGNALS NEW TALKS IN ISLAMABAD Iran may send a delegation to Islamabad this week for a second round of talks, according to two Pakistani officials. Speaking anonymously, they expressed cautious optimism that both Iranian and U.S. delegations could attend. Pakistan will not disclose travel details for security reasons and urged media to avoid speculation, noting the situation remains fluid.

There's a power struggle underway in Iran—and even within the delegation that went to Islamabad for the first round of talks, which offered a sense of the country's internal tensions. "Their arguments were so ferocious that Pakistani mediators are reported to have spent as much time refereeing among the Iranians as engaging the Americans. When tempers frayed, the hosts called a pause." "Inside Iran, signs of swelling military assertiveness are plentiful. Pro-regime crowds—mobilised nightly by networks tied to the IRGC—have taken to denouncing Araghchi and Ghalibaf by name. Military communiqués delivered by men in fatigues appear to have replaced clerical sermons." economist.com/middle-east-an…

Trump: Iran, with the help of the U.S.A., has removed, or is removing, all sea mines! Thank you!

Source: Media push hyping success of #Iran-US talks is a tactical PR maneuver designed to calm markets & shield Trump from mounting pressure, rather than a reflection of actual breakthroughs. Talks are far less positive thanks to contradictory US stances & Israeli spoiler efforts

The pressure this places on Israel to neutralize existential threats before the political climate potentially shifts and its magazine security is threatened is strategic accelerant for the Middle East. That’s a feedback loop most Dems don’t want.

The Israel Lobby echo chamber long ago recruited Iranians because it makes for an effective comms strategy. It's not a coincidence that FDD relies on in-house Iranians to either boost Reza Pahlavi or openly argue for the obliteration of the livelihoods of 92 million Iranians.

Well well well...I waited for that. He doesn’t need to call me to acknowledge that such a flawed policy, one that was endorsed by a few questionable think tanks, ultimately contributed to his election. Instead of engaging in honest self-reflection about how the situation with Iran has deteriorated in recent weeks, in part due to a consistent underestimation of the regime, it seems there is now a decision to go on the offensive against those who warned from the outset that this approach was misguided. I understand the frustration, it’s natural. But I’m neither alarmed nor particularly concerned by criticism from individuals whose professional trajectory depends more on personal advancement than on sound strategic judgment. Is there really no better advice to offer the administration when it comes to Iran? I would suggest focusing on how to weaken a regime that has actually been strengthened by these policies, rather than looking for someone to blame for the current state of affairs with Iran. At a certain point, it requires a willingness to look in the mirror. Stay safe.

Oh you’ve spoken to Mojtaba? He called you and confirmed he’s in charge and fully functional? Wow that’s amazing. Because it sure looks like Weekend at Bernie’s with B Teamers scamming lower ranks by claiming to speak to and for a pseudo vegetable. Vahidi, sure. Mojtaba, no way.

🇪🇸 Spanish PM Sanchez’s wife charged with corruption Begoña Gómez, the wife of Spanish far-left Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, has been formally charged with multiple corruption-related offenses, including influence peddling, business corruption, embezzlement, and misappropriation. The investigation began in April 2024 following a complaint by the anti-corruption group Manos Limpias, which accused Gómez of using her position to influence public contracts and secure university sponsorships. At the time, Pedro Sánchez took a five-day “period of reflection” to consider resigning over the allegations before ultimately deciding to remain in office.
