#LearnDaily The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) is the central domain controller in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids. It acts as the "brain" that monitors & coordinates powertrain functions along with general vehicle systems. Interprets driver inputs (pedals), optimizes torque and energy management, controls the motor/inverter, battery pack, on-board charger, regenerative braking, and interfaces with lighting, thermal systems, & other ECUs via CAN bus. It ensures efficient, safe, and responsive operation. #ElectricVehicles #JulehEvNews

EV is the future — but in Gurugram, it’s hitting a fiery roadblock! Over 600 high-rise societies have their Fire NOCs stuck because of risky basement pillar EV charging. This enclosed-space hazard must be fixed fast with proper ground-level infrastructure. Time to support EV adoption responsibly! @cmohry @NayabSainiBJP @MunCorpGurugram #JulehEvNews #ElectricVehicles

India burns ₹12,560 crore of diesel in commercial vehicles every single day. Trucks. Buses. Commercial fleets. Together they consume 141 million litres of diesel daily-nearly half of everything India burns. And almost all of it traces back to imported crude, paying oil-exporting nations with money that could be building roads, factories, and jobs here. At ₹89/litre, that’s ₹4.6 lakh crore leaving India every year. Now consider a ₹35/litre diesel price increase -entirely within the range of possibility given where global crude markets have been. That daily bill becomes ₹17,500 crore. The annual outflow crosses ₹6.4 lakh crore. More than India’s entire defence budget. Gone. Every year. Here’s what makes this moment different: we now have a real alternative. Electric commercial vehicles deliver approximately 65% lower fuel cost per kilometre compared to diesel. For a 40-bus STU depot, a ₹35 hike adds ₹5,000/day in fuel cost -electric eliminates most of it. For a 10-truck freight operator, the hike adds ₹60,000+/day electric changes the entire economics of the business. At just 30% fleet electrification, India saves over ₹1.9 lakh crore annually and preserves more than $5 billion in foreign exchange. Full electrification? ₹6.4 lakh crore in annual savings and $15 billion in crude imports avoided every single year. The technology exists. It is being manufactured in India. The economics, already compelling, become unanswerable at higher diesel prices. What is needed now is policy confidence -stronger STU procurement mandates, GST rationalisation on EV components, viability gap funding, and corridor-level zero-emission targets. CV electrification is not an environmental programme. It is one of the highest-return economic investments available to India this decade. The question is no longer whether. It is only how fast.

Delhi’s upcoming EV ban is expected to add nearly 600,000 electric 2Ws and 11,500 electric 3Ws to national sales by FY29. According to CRISIL, the draft Delhi EV Policy 2026-2030 will push pan-India electric 2W penetration to 21-23% by fiscal 2029, up from 18-20% without the policy. Driven by its ranking as the world’s most polluted capital in the IQAir 2025 report, Delhi’s proposed EV policy targets vehicular emissions, which contribute 23% of winter pollution, with 2Ws making up 67% of vehicles. @CrisilLimited #JulehEvNews #ElectricVehicles #Delhi #Policy
